The surroundings of Campo Santa Maria Formosa are characterized by an authentic and evocative atmosphere, typical of the lagoon city.
Near the square, you will find various historic buildings and Venetian architecture, with frescoed facades and artistic details. The church of Santa Maria Formosa dominates the square and is one of the main landmarks of the area. The church features Gothic and Baroque architecture, with richly decorated interiors.
The streets branching off from the square lead to narrow calli and picturesque canals, offering the opportunity to explore hidden and authentic corners of Venice. Along the way, you can come across traditional stores, cozy cafes and restaurants offering Venetian cuisine.
You cannot miss visiting the "Fondazione Querini Stampalia," "Palazzo Grimani," and the charming and characteristic "Libreria Acqua Alta."
St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge are very close at about 10 minutes' walk
The atmosphere of Campo Santa Maria Formosa can vary depending on the time of year. During Carnival, for example, the square might be alive with events and performances. Otherwise, you could simply enjoy the tranquility of the area, strolling through the calle and enjoying the architecture and history that this part of Venice has to offer.

To reach the apartment from the airport we suggest you take the Alilaguna shuttle (Blue Line) to the Fondamente Nove stop from where you can reach the house with a short 10-minute walk.
Alternatively, with a slightly longer but more scenic route, you can take the Orange Line to the Rialto stop.
The cost of the ticket is 15€ per person.
For a faster route you can choose to take the ATVO bus (direct) to Piazzale Roma from where you must then take Vaporetto No. 1 or 2 to the RIALTO stop.
If you arrive at the station, we recommend that you take Vaporetto No. 1 or No. 2 to Rialto from where you then walk to the apartment in about 10 minutes.
Finally, if you arrive by car you want to park at Venice - Piazzale Roma, you can then take Vaporetto No. 1 or No. 2 to Rialto. Conversely, if you prefer to park at Mestre station, you will then need to take a train to Venice Santa Lucia station, and then take Vaporetto No. 1 or No. 2
