A pull out queen sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping accommodations for smaller groups as well. Our condo is located within easy driving distance from Boone, Valle Crucis, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain, and Beech Mountain…making it the ideal location for your visit to the North Carolina High Country! Grandfather’s Nook is small and cozy with a beautiful view of the Appalachian Mountains through the dining room/living room windows. Spend some time getting lost in your favorite book or magazine in the comfortable reading corner...the reading chair swivels so you can easily take a break from reading to look out at Grandfather Mountain in the distance! Maybe spend some time enjoying the view from the porch, while sipping on your beverage of choice (coffee and various teas are provided). The condo is equipped with a gas log fireplace so you can snuggle up in the living room on those chilly fall/winter nights while reading, playing board games or cards (provided), or watching a movie or show on Netflix (provided). Are you more of the “get up and go” type? Then perhaps you’ll want to leave the condo for a little while to venture just a few minutes up the road to hit the trails or traverse the famous Mile High Swinging Bridge, at Grandfather Mountain. Consider going snow tubing (during cold months) or zip lining (during warm months) at Hawksnest, or take a ride down the mountain on the N.C. Alpine Coaster! If you want to get out and explore, but have a slower-paced day in mind…you can do some wine tasting and lounging by the Watauga River at Grandfather Vineyard and Winery. Are you a shopper? Then consider making a visit to the Original Mast General store, or even head to Blowing Rock for a day of shopping. For the ski/snowboard enthusiasts…Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain, and Appalachian Ski are all within easy driving distance of the condo. There is truly something for everyone in this area!
