Welcome to the Ann Arbor Ohana Suite! This space is a private, attached guest house for family and friends visiting town to enjoy the food, nature, and of course, football. Here you'll find your own driveway, fenced in yard for pups, large den space, and full bed and bath. 1 Mile from downtown, and 2 from campus, explore AA with your loved ones at your leisure knowing that you're never far from the comfort and convenience of the family suite. Comfy for 4, snug to 7. This suite fits 4 comfortably in a queen bed and pull out sofa (up to 7 with additional couch and air mattress), has a large multipurpose den with kitchenette buffet console and dining table, bedroom, full bath, outdoor patio, and fenced in yard for your pets. The kitchenette has many amenities but no oven or stove top. The Den has a door directly to your private driveway, and a large sliding glass door to the patio and yard with a doggie door built into the screen door. One end of the den has two couches (the blue one pulls out), and on the other is the kitchenette with a high top dining table. The kitchenette has a mini fridge, microwave, electric kettle, toaster oven, and coffee pot with fresh local whole beans and a grinder for those looking to sample the offerings of local favorites like Roos Roast and Hyperion, as well as some pre ground if you're in a hurry. The buffet console should satisfy all silverware and glassware needs. Note, there is no oven or stove top, so bring your favorite snacks and avocado toast, but make sure to grab your leftovers from the excellent restaurant offerings in town! (To name a few, the fried orzo mac and sour beer at Jolly Pumpkin, any sandwich at Zingermans to satisfy 3 meals, or if you can book in advance, my favorite meal in town is the monthly rotating prix fixe dinner at Spencer with a bottle of wine or two!) In the middle of the den you will find the practice putting green, allowing you to ensure you never 3 putt if your headed to play 18 at the U of M golf course. The wall mounted 65” TV is on an extended swivel arm, allowing it to be directed toward the couches, dining table, or sliding door so you can bring The Game with you inside or out. Most streaming services are available via Chromecast TV (Den TV for casting purposes), and a PS4 console is available in the entertainment center. Feel free to connect to the Nest Audio for Bluetooth music. The bathroom features a full size bath and shower with a hydroelectric powered Bluetooth speaker. The faucet also has a drinking water filter and a high gooseneck spout to accommodate most water bottles, and the fish jug in the kitchenette. *Bath jacuzzi jets currently out of order.* The bedroom contains a queen bed and full size closet, containing luggage racks, the air mattress and 2 fans. The patio and yard can be fully fenced in for your pets, has rustic seating for 3 and a table with outdoor storage for meals. A number of bird houses and feeders, a bird bath, and a squirrel feeder. There are also automatic lights above the patio and bins. *More patio furniture coming soon!* Ann Arbor is a lovely town to visit, and whether you're here to tour the unrivaled campus or attend a UM sporting event; enjoy the outdoors with a trip down the river out of Argo Park Canoe and Kayak Livery, hike Bird Hill Nature Area, or say hi to the baby ducks at West Park; hit up Main Street, State Street or South U for the restaurants and bars; or just need a sweet place to call your own while visiting friends and family, I hope you enjoy your stay at the Ann Arbor Ohana Suite.
We really enjoyed our stay, and Matt was very responsive and responsible. There were so many nice touches from the music playing when we entered to snacks and beverages in the fridge. The bath and shower were amazing, and we loved how pet friendly it was even though we did not bring our furry companion. It was perfect for two people; a little harder to imagine a bigger group. It was great to park right outside the door for loading and unloading. It took a moment to get used to using all the smart amenities, but we really appreciated all the green elements of the stay, too. We hope to be back soon and would recommend highly.
Matt’s place was perfect for my friends and me during our short stay in Ann Arbor. Id recommend this spot to anyone!
I really enjoyed my stay here. Would highly recommend for anyone thinking about spending a weekend in Ann Arbor.
Adjacent to Historic Water Hill Neighborhood and on the edge of the ever friendly Arborview Neighborhood, and located on Miller Ave, a direct thoroughfare to downtown (but not too traffic-y like Jackson or Main) you will find many treasured Ann Arbor locations walkable. There are SPIN scooters readily available in the area, as well as city bus stops all up Miller Ave. Parking downtown is usually a breeze as well, though i would recommend heading for a garage instead of hunting for surface parking. Highway ramps to 23 or 94 are under 2 miles away. Student housing is generally on the other side of campus (2-3 miles), but if you're a parent visiting a student, this is the perfect area to be (and the perfect distance away from) the student areas of town.
