These activities include breathwork, sound ceremonies, yoga nidra, guided meditation, zazen, mindfulness walks, art and craft workshops, one to one coaching sessions and much more. All of the activities and events hosted at Zen Jungle are centred around finding inner peace and happiness. Whether you are completely new to this world or are a seasoned seeker, you are warmly welcomed here and all our classes are tailored to suit every ability. FOOD & DRINK Zen Jungle Retreat hosts The Eye, an incredible panoramic bistro bar overlooking the valley. With bifold doors and windows on every wall, you're never short of a view. The bar is open regularly serving a wide range of drinks. We also have a great range of alcohol free options including locally brewed lager and kombucha. Food is available Thursday - Sunday for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also host a weekly tribal feasting experience, a chance to delve into your senses and sample a wide range of dishes. This is served slowly in a single sitting, where food becomes community. Again, this is bookable on our website. The Jungle Club is a stylish and cosy clubhouse situated on Tribal Lake, with a prime view of the sunset. Bifold doors spanning the length of the building bring the outdoors in while the log burning stove brings warmth and connection to the elements. This is open on select days for drinks and also hosts a weekly cookout where we serve BBQ's, woodfired pizzas and delicious pot meals. SPACES During your stay here, you are welcome to roam at your leisure and use the public spaces available. These include: - The Pendulum, a giant swing set overlooking Freedom Lake. - Zenscape, a lakeside stage great for meditation, yoga or sitting and feeding the fish. - The Meteor, a bookable firepit lounge where you can sit alone or host small to medium sized groups, with or without food. - The Hive, a bookable firepit lounge nested in our outdoor perennial fruit garden. - The Edge, an intimate bookable firepit lounge located at the highest point at the retreat with unbeatable views. - The Yin Yang Amphitheatre, an indoor/outdoor space great for eating, sitting and watching the world go by. - The Woodlands, acres of ancient trees and secret hideouts, taking you back to your roots. Perfect for mindful walks and picnics. - The Lakes, great for walking around, wild swimming or sitting. - The Aqueduct Path, direct access from our land onto the Bude Aqueduct path, allowing you to walk to Dunsden Nature Reserve or Tamar Lakes. - The Lounge Yurt, is available for hire in between sessions if you'd like to chill, watch TV or hang out. WILD SWIMMING Please note that while a pool is listed in the amenities, this is natures pool in the form of wild lake swimming. Our lakes are perfect for wild swimming and provide an immersive experience to deeply connect with nature. Take to the water in a wetsuit, swimming costume or even free yourself with a skinny dip! We also offer guided dips for those who want to swim in a group or need some encouragement. Whether you're looking to cool down in the height of summer or master the Wim Hof method in the midst of winter, wild swimming is sure to always provide you with a deep sense of freedom and satisfaction as well as connection to nature. Please note that swimming is for those over the age of 16 and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The lakes are not life guarded and while they have been tested for water quality at certain times, it cannot be guaranteed, so all swimming is undertaken at your own risk. WHAT'S NEARBY Zen Jungle Retreat is just 6 miles from the popular surfing town of Bude, host to many incredible beaches such as Crooklets, Widemouth, Northcott, Sandymouth and a rugged and beautiful coastline, great for hikes. Should you wish to venture out during your stay, there are many places nearby accessible by car. Boscastle has a rich history and spiritual community, a truly picturesque town. St Nectan's Glen is a popular highlight, with a magical 60ft waterfall cascading through a hole in the rocks just outside of Tintagel. Port Isaac, home of the popular TV show Doc Martin makes for a great day trip. Padstow is also nice to incorporate, a short drive further and is a quaint fishing town.
