[Read more...] Located in the quiet Llyn Peninsula village of Efailnewydd, Glanffrwd is a lovely three bedroom holiday cottage near Pwllheli, ideal for families or a group of friends. With three bedrooms, sleeping five in total, the property also features outdoor space and is a fabulous base to explore the area. Stepping into the property, a hallway leads to a lounge, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor - the reception rooms both having beautiful herringbone flooring. The lounge to the front of the property is has a minimalist feel to the decor, simply decorated with a blend of traditional and modern furniture. A two seater wooden framed sofa upholstered in Melin Tregwynt fabric, sits alongside two armchairs in the same style, along with a round coffee table positioned centrally. A side is unit is located to the corner of the room, housing a large Smart TV next to a cosy electric log burner installed into the chimney breast with slate hearth and stone lintel. A funky sheep footstool completes the layout and a free standing lamp adds the option of softer lighting. The second reception room, a dining room, also features an open fireplace in the same style as the lounge. Located centrally,beautiful Fired Earth round dining table is finished with oak top and cream coloured legs, matching the dining chairs. An accompanying sideboard unit is located on the wall nearest the door, with table lamp along with artwork and a mirror positioned on the wall. Completing the ground floor layout, a kitchen to the rear of the property is bright and airy with grey coloured units and wooden laminate worktops. The u shaped layout includes an under counter fridge with ice box, an oven with grill and electric hob, combination microwave, toaster, kettle and ample cupboard storage. Set off from the main house, accessed through the courtyard, a useful boot / utility room is located next to the kitchen with washing machine and freezer Heading upstairs in this three bedroom holiday cottage near Pwllheli, the layout comprises a double bedroom, a twin room and a single along with a spacious bathroom. The double is a fabulous room to the front of the house, with a large wooden framed bed positioned centrally between two pine bedside cabinets with lamps. A dressing table and stool sit opposite the bed and a large pine wardrobe with drawers is located on the side wall. Blue accents in the soft furnishings provide a contrast to the neutral tones of the room and the dark wooden furniture. The twin room, to the rear of the property, has exposed floorboards and two single divan style beds with large patterned headboards.A large double wardrobe provides plenty of clothes storage space and windows to two aspects allow natural light to flood in. The final bedroom, a compact single, also has exposed floorboards, a wooden framed single bed, bedside table with lamp and wall shelving including hangers for clothing. Linen bedding and sheets cover the beds and soft wool throws.Completing the upstairs layout, an inviting bathroom includes a bath with shower over, basin, WC and wall shelving for storage. Cream coloured tiles around the bath contrast beautifully with the striking pale blue colour of the walls, and the wood strip flooring.
With off road parking and a small private courtyard, Glanffrwd is conveniently located on the outskirts of Pwllheli, making it ideal for exploring the Llŷn Peninsula. A very short drive leads into the town centre, which has numerous restaurants, bars and shops. To the west of the three bedroom holiday cottage near Pwllheli are numerous stunning beaches and seaside resorts, suitable for the whole family. Llanbedrog beach, popular with families is a beautiful stretch of coast with shallow waters, golden sand and brightly coloured beach huts. With a beach bar located to one end, fabulous woodland walks and scenery, it's a spot that shouldn't be missed. Slightly further west, the popular resort of Abersoch is a hit with visitors, thanks to its stunning beach, water sports and vibrant cafe and restaurant scene.
History fans should head to the seaside town of Criccieth, to visit the imposing Criccieth Castle sitting at the high point of the town, providing fabulous views into Eryri (Snowdonia) and along Cardigan Bay from here. Be sure to stop into Cadwalader's for some amazing ice cream, or grab a sea front lunch at Dylan's Restaurant, located in a fabulous art deco building. Another pretty seaside village, Aberdaron is a great destination and starting point for some coastal walks. The north coast of the Llŷn Peninsula offers a wide range of quieter and wilder beaches along the Llwybr Arfordir Cymru (Wales Coast Path) including Porthdinllaen and the famed Ty Coch Inn, a beachside pub with fabulous beach parties and great summer vibe. Access is via a beach walk from Morfa Nefyn or a cliff top walk across the Morfa Nefyn Golf Course, adding to the charm of this quaint seaside village. Families will love Glasfryn Parc, an activity centre with outdoor and indoor attractions. From go karting to archery, kayaking to ten pin bowling, it's a great spot to spend a day while in the area. The wonderfully eccentric Portmeirion is not too far from Efailnewydd and another great place to spend the day.
