A traditional Japanese wooden house (Kominka) of nearly 100-year-old was beautifully renovated into a cozy guesthouse by German architectural designer Karl Bengs. With the original wooden framework preserved and made visible, the house was designed and furnished in such a way to represent traditional Japanese and European aesthetics. Conveniently located in the center of Matsudai area, it is an ideal place to stay to explore the area or to visit Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2024. Shared living room, kitchen and dining room are on the ground floor. Guestrooms on the first floor are equipped with private bathroom.
