Welcome to The Latte Loft located above Claire's Cakes & Cafe in charming Monterey VA! This is a BRAND NEW work in progress apartment that we are still putting our finishing touches on! The Airbnb is located above an active cafe which is open Monday through Saturday! Be ready to smell fresh coffee brewing & pastries baking while hearing the low din of customer chatter downstairs. Our team of expert hostesses will make sure your stay with us is welcoming, clean, comfortable and cozy! >>NO PETS (while we love animals, we cannot allow any animals during your stay with us!) << About the building: We offer a full apartment with a separate back entrance above a Coffee Shop/Cafe/Bakery in downtown Monterey! We are right on Main Street so you’re in the perfect spot to walk to all the local shops and restaurants! Please keep in mind from 9-2 Monday thru Saturday we are an open and active business. You will hear the low din of customer voices downstairs. We are closed on Sundays. We are a true Bed & Breakfast: a BIG perk of staying at the latte loft is that we offer a free breakfast to our guests each morning (except Sunday)! We open at 9 and can’t wait to fix you breakfast! Inside: Kitchen- Walk into our brand new kitchen with a stocked mini fridge (if you need anything frozen just let us know! We can put it in the commercial kitchen at the cafe), a bar top table, and a ready to go coffee station! Head down the hall and check out the full bathroom with a shower/tub combo. We have all the essentials in case you left anything at home. Living room: Relax on the comfortable couch while watching your favorite Netflix show, play one of board games or read one of the many books left for you to enjoy! Bedroom: Facing the street our cozy bedroom is complete with a brand new queen size bed, sitting chair and dresser! Enjoy a bit of ambiance with our electric fireplace. About us: We are proud to be a woman owned and run business! Each team member has a background in hospitality and cleaning! We have a thorough and extensive cleaning procedure we use between each guest. We are so looking forward to hosting you and making your stay in Monterey wonderful!

Humbled by Hospitality! My family and I frequent Highland and Bath County often. We're delighted to find an immediately homey, clean, and welcoming space right on Main St in Monterey. Check-in and Check-out are easy and efficient. Stairs leading up to door are shallow that most should not feel strained by. Ample interior spacing with the tightest spots being the bedroom and kitchen. For only a two people, is no problem. Claire quickly replies to messages with great recommendations and assistance. There's only a mini fridge (no freezer), but being walking distance to both Dollar Tree and the Highland Roots Market, guests can buy frozen goods as needed. Claire's Cafe is AMAZING and we WILL be back to try more delicacies (everything we ate is delicious)! Despite being above the cafe, it's quiet and private. Felt perfectly at ease. We've stayed at multiple venues and Claire's hospitality is unmatched. Highly recommend!
We are lucky to be some of the first guests to stay at the Latte Loft and it was delightful. The area is so pretty I am already planning a return trip. Of course, staying about a bakery/coffee shop is some folks idea of heaven. Who doesn't want a nice hot slice of quiche to start the day? The bedroom is in the front of the building overlooking the main street but because the town is so small and quiet, we were not bothered by any street noise. The host's are around to make sure all is right but not intrusive. The space is ample and everything feeelskk If you are around on the weekend you must check out Big Fish Cider. Really, it is one of the nations most award winning ciderys and you should pick up a bottle or two. We had a great stay and are looking forward to returning maybe for the fall colors!
I really enjoyed my stay! The Latte Loft was a perfect location in Monterey and walkable to restaurants, Big Fish Cider, and cute shops. This was a rural retreat and a great starting point to explore Highland County! It was a comfortable and cute loft and I look forward to staying again!
