The City Farm Empowered is a communal space. Where neighbors knock on the door. You may cross paths with other travelers. There is fresh food and tea regularly. This is a place where people connect, share, laugh, live generously, invest in each other, craft, work, play, celebrate, and do life together. We speak life in this home. We live holistically, with zero waste practices, intentionally, and sustainably. We want to invite you to be a part of that, if only for a snapshot. I tell people who get really excited about my house that it isn't Pinterest. It is pretty magical here but it is a working farm, and we live here. I do enjoy and maintain a clean house but I am human. I have embraced the posture of welcoming people to the mess instead of apologizing for it. I so deeply desire for it to be a life-giving space, and sometimes that means joining the imperfectness. I LOVE to host and make things beautiful!! Also, most days you will find dishes in my sink. I don't feel the need to put on a show because I want to invite people into my real life not just a presentation, although I hope you feel like royalty when you stay here. We live non-traditionally, with the seasons and unplugged. All though our home might not reach five stars in modern amenities and a traditionally "comfortable" American life that is part of the magic. That is part of the experience.
