Originally from Durban but I have lived in Phalaborwa for the last 17 years. I am an analytical chemist and manage an underground laboratory for a copper & iron ore mine. My husband (Lance) is a business analyst and is also employed with the local mining industry. I am meticulous about hospitality and service excellence, and will go the extra mile to see to your needs, and to make sure your stay is pleasant with the perfect balance of everything. Curtis our son is a professional photographer and film maker. He has grown up, with the Kruger National Park as his back yard, and he has become a wild life and Kruger Park expert. It is no exaggeration to say that he knows the area inside-out and the main territories to spot Africa’s Big 5 is his specialty. Every experience in the wild is special and unique, ever changing, and never the same. Our daughter Sarah does volunteer bible work, teaches sign-language and is an aspiring pianist and guitarist. She also just started teaching English online having completed a TEFL course. Christine the youngest is the teenager in the house, who is too eager to make a plan to miss school. As a family we combine our skills to help make your stay a truly remarkable experience and we are honored to be your hosts. We offer advice on all the activities in the area including shuttle services to and from the airport. We can help plan your itinerary for the best options to do your own tour through self-drive and so you get the real deal, not just a commercial tourist version. Alternatively we can take you on tours, or perhaps a bit of both options, whichever you prefer. Even if you don’t feel comfortable with English and don’t have access to transport, we can help with the driving and transport if need be. We also offer exquisite dinners on request. Our meals are all home cooked with the freshest of ingredients and have a variety of a real African Braai, spicy curries, venison (seasonal) or snack packs etc. To make your stay even more exciting, we can offer you Indian cooking lessons, photography studio modelling, couple or family shoots, and basic guitar lessons - of course this is when you’re not game viewing or hiking. All our guests staying for more than 6 days qualify for a welcome Braai with full bodied red wine from the Cape and a complimentary bottle of Amarula (which is made from Marula fruit that is indigenous to the area). We love sharing wildlife stories and bringing to you those details around the fireside that would make your experience special. We are excited about meeting new people, would welcome your visit, and are fully committed to make your holiday a relaxed and unforgettable African experience.
