Alec's place is truly special and ideal for relaxing while also being close enough to typical tourist adventures. For example, Florence is a very quick drive and tram ride away. We had an extended stay and the immediate local area is ideal for exploring the small towns and landscapes of the region -- long lunches at family run restaurants in neighboring towns, walking the hillsides, enjoying the yard and staring at the view and listening to the church bells ring out. For us it was magical. The home was very comfortable - shower, bed, sheets and towels all comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed many meals at home. The outdoor furniture and umbrella meant a lot of afternoons relaxing in the fresh air. Alec was a terrific host. He was a pleasure to speak with, quickly responsive to messages and questions, and great suggestions. We will remember our time in Alec's little slice of paradise for a very long time.
Wir haben uns im Haus von Alec und Christina sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus war wunderschön und geschmackvoll und individuell eingerichtet. The place is beautiful, much more spacious than what the photos show, and the large private garden with an amazing view is the cherry on top. Lots of privacy, space. The structure and interior with lots of history and character, very clean and cozy. Friendly and flexible host. Would love to return!

The very charming house is located at a hillside between wine yards, olive trees and woods with a scenic view up to the Arno valley. Alec and Christina are wonderful hosts who welcomed us with wine, olives and cheese in the garden. Inside the house there is beautiful furniture combined with the old architecture. A very good place to stay and relax with a scenic view, to hike or bicycle (very hilly), to visit a very nice winery nearby or to visit Florence (Tip: As entering the city of Florence ist strictly regulated (ZTL) go to the parking Parcheggio Scambiatore Guidoni T2 for 1€ for the first 10 hrs and get the tram to the city centre every 7 min for 1,50 € one way). We highly recommend this wonderful, peaceful place and love to come back!

Italy... what an amazing place to live... Head off in any direction an within a short time you'll wind up at the beach, or the mountains, Skiing, Snowboarding, trekking, a brilliant family restaurant, vineyards, farms, or any of the zillion and one interesting museums, churches of Florence, Pisa, Pistoia, Lucca, Viareggio. I awake each morning to the clouds coming across the mountains, views of Florence, and oh yes, Leonardo Da Vinci's grandmother's house just out my window. Bacchereto, our little village is much like the one where I grew up in Bermuda... everybody is just so friendly, life is truly great here. Come hang out in the garden, take a long walk through the hills, get in some great photography and relax with a bottle of wine from the vineyard next door! ====================================================================== A Late Summer update: We've had an exceptionally HOT summer this year, it seemed to take forever and a day to get moving, but in the end Summer arrived with bells on. We've had a wonderful time meeting all sorts of lovely and interesting people from around the world, this is our second year with Airbnb and we're still in love with it! Our little worldwide family continues to grow. It's now finally cooling down and thoughts turn to training for this autumn, several good treks are in the works so I'll be hitting the hills and hopefully getting in some good shots. With all the rain we've had this spring the wine vendemia is about to get under way and we should have exceptionally good stuff this year. Autumn is around the bend and it's the best time of year to visit Tuscany. This year our area will be hosting the Cycling world Championships, should be great fun! Here in the house, the toys are all behaving well, nice little tricks such as improved wireless, music all over, wireless printing! A proper little amp for jamming on the guitar. I've gotten a new guitar this past February for my birthday so will very happily lend the spare one to our musically inclined guests. We are constantly adding new toys and new touches. Now 8 months on I'm making real progress, barre chords finally working out, many thanks to our guitarist guests this summer for their support and continued encouragement. To those of you who have ever dreamed of playing an instrument, it's never too late, START!! We look forward to meeting you!
