Very nice place to stay and ideally located for Helvellyn

We are a family of four who frequently visit the Lakes to hike the fells and this was our second holiday at Kate’s cottage. Once again we were delighted with our stay - whilst it is a basic cottage it is well equipped, warm & cosy and had plenty of space for the four of us. The utility room was really useful as a drying room (as we had very poor weather) and the shower is excellent and a real bonus after a long day on wet fells. The location is great and only c.10 minutes walk into Glenridding and its range of shops/pubs and restaurants (we think the best place for dinner is the Royal Hotel at Dockray). Also, plenty of walks from the door - during one we took the Ullswater steamer to Howtown and walked back across the Martindale fells back down to Patterdale. Finally - Kate is a top-notch host and super-responsive. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this cottage again and would happily recommend to others.

We really enjoyed our stay in Kates cottage. The cottage was clean, cosy and well equipped. The kitchen contained at least double of everything for our family of five. We were kindly supplied with hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower soap and toilet rolls. The beds were comfortable, and the bedding and towels smelt super fresh. Thank you Kate for the tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, cake and the surprise Easter eggs. We lit the log burner in the evenings for cosiness, but the cottage is lovely and warm, and there's plenty of hot water The location is absolutely gorgeous within an easy stroll to the pubs and cafes of Glenridding, and Ullswater, and on the trail for the hills including Helvellyn. We didn't need to used the car for the whole holiday. We were so sad to leave, but will hopefully be back again. Sarah x.

Had another great time staying here for the second time. Really cosy and comfortable cottage with excellent lakeside and hill walks right from the door. Would go back again!! Love the place

We had an absolutely fantastic stay here at Glenridding. The cottage was lovely, even better than our expectations, the surroundings are beautiful with lots of nice local walks. The cottage really did exceed our expectations, was extremely spacious, the kitchen was well equipped and the added bonus of the log burner ready to go was a lovely touch. The cottage has a lovely garden and off road parking on a quiet lane. We would definitely recommend and cannot wait to visit again soon. Thank you.
