Beautiful house, peaceful and scenic surroundings, this house is perfect for a getaway with the family! Robin was easy to get a hold of and gave detailed instructions for our stay which made our check in/out and everything a breeze. Great host and property - would highly recommend this property and would love to stay here again in the future! The only complaint I have is about the bugs; we knew staying so close to the water we would encounter a lot of bugs (specifically mosquitos), but the grass being so long really didn’t help. There was a noticeable difference with the amount of bugs that were around once the grass was cut, but unfortunately it was cut a day or 2 before we left so most of our stay the property had really long grass.

We had a very pleasant stay. The house is quite nicely renovated. The kitchen has everything required. The bedrooms are comfortable. The bathrooms are great. Perth and Smith Falls are short drives away. Netflix is available; it might be good if you watch anything else to bring your Chromecast or your Fire TV Stick. The only minor issue we had is that at the time of the year we were there the renter is responsible to take their garbage away and there really is no good onsite or nearby management strategy; we are happy to put everything into garbage bags, and recycling bins but we believe it ought to be the owner's responsibility to take care of that after, and that it should not be up to the renter to figure out what to do with the garbage... A minor issue overall for a great rental.

The accommodation is beautiful. Lots of walking options and a lovely area in Ontario to visit. Will definitely be back!

This is a lovely historic house, with some great updates that make for a comfortable stay—including AC and a nice soaking tub. We really enjoyed watching the activity at the locks, spying on the raptors nesting on a pole nearby, and swimming at the Rideau Ferry Yacht Club public beach (a short drive away). Some things to be aware of: there are lots of mosquitos (not surprising, of course, since it’s on the canal), and the AC doesn’t effectively cool the upstairs bedrooms (we brought in fans to use on hot nights).
