Whiddy Island Schoolhouse accommodation as the name suggests is found on one of the seven inhabited islands of West Cork. As such it is a peaceful and charming place to spend some time. Access is by a foot passenger ferry and the ferry is included in the price of the accommodation. A nice large family room with a self service breakfast included, all ferry trips to and from the Island are included in your stay.

Whiddy Island is a ten minute boat ride from the pier of Bantry. Bantry is about an hour from Cork city by car or 90 minutes by bus from Cork bus station. The boat journey is included in your room rate.
The island is only 5 KM long and 3 wide so it is easy to walk everywhere. The Whiddy Island School House is located about 800 meters from the ferry.
There is lots of interesting things to visit on the island with historical sites and local pebble beaches some with picnic areas.
If arriving by car, leave the car on the mainland and take the foot ferry to the Island.
On the island all travel is by foot or bicycle.
