Birchwood Cottage was the perfect and most peaceful little getaway. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable with all the necessities needed to make you feel at home. There are shops and lovely places to eat out, just a short stroll away. Although the weather was doing its best to keep the sun away, the back garden is well set up and has a great area at the bottom of the garden for dining out in the warmer dryer weather which has stunning views over the hills. You are perfectly located for a jumping off point for lots of day excursions to many beautiful historical places of interest. There are also plenty of forest & nature reserves close by as well. This is the place to go to unwind and recharge.

We had a fantastic three nights. The cottage was just as described: clean, warm, homely, and really well equipped. It was a perfect base for exploring the area, and a really comfortable home from home. We’re already looking forward to our next stay.
