We stayed at Erin and Dan’s Elk Summit home for the month of August 2023. Our main activity was riding the Arapeen Trail system with our SxS. What a wonderful month! Their home was certainly as represented on Airbnb but we were very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful views of the San Pitch mountains especially at sunset. Erin was very helpful making our reservations and is an excellent host. While the location of Elk Summit is rural with great peace and quite, it is only 3 miles from Spring City which has a gas station, mini-mart, great café (Das Café) and well preserved/restored homes dating back to the 1800s. And if you need additional shopping, Ephraim to the south and Mt. Pleasant to the north are only a few more miles away. Coupled with easy access to the Arapeen Trail system via Spring City, Mt. Pleasant or Ephraim, Elk Summit was an ideal location for our vacation. Thank You Erin and Dan!

Erin’s place matched the photos exactly. Their communication was excellent!! They were very helpful and seem nice. The house was very rural and not exactly what we expected. The gravel road is more of a rocky dirt road. We drove it multiple times a day which got annoying. The neighbors are nice but their dogs bark a lot. The house was fine however, the king bed sits on the ground so it’s uncomfortable getting over the bed frame. Also the mattress is older and has some dips. The couch is very nice and the two chairs but that is all the sitting area offers. That was fine for us if you have more people might be tough. We did not use the fire pit, but the swing by the fire pit is not in good shape to sit on. There was a lot of wild life to see every day, very cool!! Overall it’s a nice place just not what we expected and too far out of town for us.

This airbnb is cute and quaint. We unfortunately had expected a more remote setting and more accessibility to the property. This would be an ATV’s dream place. We also thought it would be safe for our dogs to be and the neighbor’s dogs (which we didn’t know roamed free) were barking and growling (after talking to the hosts, they said they’re nice but I didn’t try to find out with the growling) that we had to leave since the dogs couldn’t go outside without being approached. Overall the house is nice, the hosts are responsive, and it’s quiet. We’re just sad we weren’t able to actually stay due to the surrounding properties. Not their fault, just would’ve been nice to know beforehand so we didn’t end up losing most all of our money.

This was the perfect base for our family to explore the area and ride rented ATVs. We had never spent much time here, despite not living too far away, and came to love to charm and quaintness of Spring City. The kids enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, and exploring. We recommend this retreat wholeheartedly.
