酒店位于西雅图国际区( Seattle 's International District )的中心,靠近市中心,小说《苦味甜蜜角落的酒店》( Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet )中也有介绍。
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place. It is more accurately a hostel, rather than a hotel. While I do not mind a historic building, this building has not been maintained (the blinds in my room were taped together, the carpet felt dirty, cracks in the walls, etc). I chose not to shower at the hotel because the shared bathrooms felt dirty. Additionally, there is lots of noise in and around the building late at night and the walls do not block out any of the sound. I can say though, that the staff was welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately though, I think the building needs major overhauling in order to be a comfortable space for guests.
I enjoyed my stay at the famous Panama Hotel! It was located very close to multiple locations, and the link was just a short walk, though heads up Seattle has very steep streets. The Teahouse was delightful and delicious, with a very cozy vibe to it. Jan is clearly very passionate about the hotel, and she was very lovely every time we interacted. All in all, I was pleased with my experience and I hope to return one day!
This is a very special place. It almost felt like traveling in time. If you are into a historic experience and want to get a sense of how life could be outside the capitalist‘s efficiency and productivity machine, this is the place to go. I slept well and the staff was friendly and helpful. After I got back from an early morning walk in town on a Sunday, the owner had to come all the way to let me back into the hotel. Wonderful devotion to the project. Thank you Jan and Eric!
You get what you pay for. I expected the street noise and squeaky bed. That's what I paid for. The noteworthy part was that the host demanded that I send an acknowledgment message about the room only having one outlet. In doing so, the host didn't acknowledge that that the one outlet doesn't have a ground plug. When I travel, I try to bring one charger for all my USB-C devices, so despite me following the host's unusual demands, I still couldn't charge anything. Details like this make me question my continued use of this platform. What would have happened if I'd refused to answer their post-reservation demands? Can I make similar demands of the host? No squeaky beds? A useful outlet? No street noise? How about this? The gap between the door and doorframe shouldn't be such that passerbys can see into my room. Right?
