Hi, we’re Katya and Patrick! We're now based between Truckee, California (by Lake Tahoe) and Sarasota, Florida. Before ending up in these two magical places, we spent the prior 12 years living and working around the world in Washington DC, Paris, Singapore, and San Francisco. We love California and found that we kept returning to Truckee for holidays and long weekends to enjoy the amazing outdoors, culture, and all around good vibes. The Tahoe area is great year round. We initially got hooked on skiing using Truckee as a base (we’re a short drive to 6 different ski resorts), and have since visited and loved all seasons here. So we ended up buying a house in Tahoe Donner and love spending as much time as possible here! Each season here is amazing in its own right, and at this point summer is now our favorite with all the lake activities at both Tahoe and Donner Lakes. When we're not in Truckee you can usually find us in Sarasota, Florida which is where we now spend most of the year. Sarasota is a jewel with amazing beaches, arts, culture, history, restaurants, shopping, and so much more. Or to be more specific, make sure you check out the world class beaches at Lido Key and Siesta Key, dining and shopping at boutiques at St. Armand's Circle or Downtown Sarasota, the renowned galleries and theatres at Ringling and New College, naturalist favorites the Selby Botanical Gardens and Mote Aquarium, or just nice local sunsets at Sapphire Shores or Indian Beach, all of which are within a 5-15min trip from our craftsman cottages - you won't be disappointed! :-) We initially started hosting on AirBnB in 2011 and have since stayed in countless AirBnBs around the world, so we know what it means to be a good host and also what guests expect -- we're sure you'll enjoy your stay!
