Had a lovely stay at the farm . Matt was a great host and picked us up from the station , went through how everything worked and then left us to enjoy the farm. Especially enjoyed the feeding session . Where Matt took us around all the animals letting us feed them . Plus providing information about all of them. Would recommend for anyone looking to escape from the city.

A beautiful, relaxing getaway with all the provisions we could ask for. The view is incredible, the animals are gorgeous and the caravan is perfection. Splendid for a place to unwind, pop the kettle on the stove and take your cuppa outside to take in the beauty. My little boy and I loved every minute! X

The sweet caravan, Eloise, is a dream come true to me, the solo traveler. Matt and Marie were kind enough to pick me up from Newton Abbot, saving me the need for a car or a long walk with a big bag. I felt instantly at home at the farm. There was a cool box left for me with loads of goodies to keep me hydrated and fed all weekend, and Matt brought fresh ice packs every morning, but never felt intrusive. His walk through of the facilities was perfect and thorough. He’s a lovely chap!! I slept like the dead in the cozy bed, drifting to sleep to the sounds of crickets and soft tawny owl calls, and woke to the morning chorus of birds and the most lush view of the rolling hills. There are many footpaths around, and I recommend the Ordinance Survey app: download the local map before you arrive. The shower was hot and toilet clean and not smelly at all. Matt does a fab job keeping everything it top condition and is quick to respond if you need anything. He has instructions up in the loo for how to use it and also be courteous to your fellow caravanners 😉 I was delighted to be away from WiFi, but sadly there is an excellent 4G signal at the farm. It was very easy to stay connected whilst also being totally unplugged. If you’re looking for a chill place to unwind, this is it. Strongly recommend for solo travelers, however couples seemed to be just as happy in Olive next door, and the two have the same size bed. This is a place for nature lovers, ramblers, bug enthusiasts (so many butterflies and happy bees sipping nectar all around), bird fanatics (I saw loads of green woodpeckers, great spotted woodpecker, tawny owl, buzzards), and farm dreamers. The sheep, goats, pigs, hens, alpaca, feral kitties (they stay at arm’s length 🐈‍⬛ 🐈‍⬛), guinea hens, and not-frequent-enough-for-me dog visits were major joys. I felt very cozy, safe, and happy on this little weekend getaway and will definitely come back soon. That is if this gem isn’t booked solid henceforward!! Things I’d recommend to bring: 🦔Sturdy walking shoes you don’t mind getting mucky 🦔flip flops for loo and shower, around the caravan 🦔high capacity battery for devices if you’re car-free 🦔bottle for water on rambles 🦔environmentally friendly body and hair washing products to help preserve this glorious environment 🦔cozy duds for around the fire 🦔muck boots/Wellies for traipsing around the pasture 🦔snacks for rambles 🦔bird/flower/bug/foraging field guides if that’s your bag 🦔robe/dressing gown for shower visit ease modesty

We absolutely loved our stay at Alpaca Antics farms. On greeting us Matt invited us to sit in the back of his pick-up tractor for an initial tour of the farm, which was such an exciting and novel way to begin the stay. The views of the rolling hills and all the animals grazing was so beautiful. I am an animal lover and it made me so happy to see such content, free and happy animals at the farm. There were alpacas, sheep which literally ran up to us and put their heads forward for a pet when we arrived, little pygmy goats which were so friendly, as well as two pigs with waggy tails and lots of fluffy chickens in a separate central pen (also large). The animals were clearly well-fed but matt provided us with some additional treats to feed them with. The caravan was kitted out thoughtfully, with a lovely welcome cool box filled with milk, butter, cheese, rye bread, orange and apple juice, prosecco and cookies to begin our stay. We had blankets to keep us warm, tea and coffee and all the cutlery and kitchenwear we needed. The hobs worked great for frying bacon and eggs (fresh from the chickens!) and making cups of tea. The porta loo and shower were brilliant quality and kept spotlessly clean, and matt also provided us with towels. I had the pleasure of taking part in the feeding experience one morning, where i not only fed the animals but learned all about them and met Matt's lovely wife and foster daughter. The site is about a half-hour walk from a little village with a few pubs, including the 'wild goose' where we ate on our first night. The food was delicious and the walk was fun as the paths lead us through wild trails. I'd advise wearing sensible shoes if you plan to do this walk! Matt also provided us with an outside oven which enabled us to sit in front of the wood fire (chairs, table, wood and firestarting equipment provided), with pizzas we had brought and wine under our blankets on our final night. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and I'd love to return one day and see the animals again. My partner, who had reservations as he likes his home comforts said he 'hadn't felt this relaxed in a long time'.
