Enjoy Huckleberry Hideaway, a comfortable, secure cottage located in the quaint mountain town of Black Mountain. You are steps from a bubbling trout stream, and a long walk or a short drive to downtown Black Mountain, with numerous food, music, and shopping venues. Montreat College and Conference Center, Lake Susan & trail system , close by , has outstanding trails in the 2500 acre protected wilderness area. Asheville, Biltmore, The Grove Park Inn, & River Arts District are minutes away We built Huckleberry as an AIRBNB, completing it in October 2021. It is about halfway between the center of Black Mountain and Montreat, 200-300 yards off Montreat Rd, near Flat Creek. You are 18 minutes from Asheville's vibrant downtown. You can fish the creek, a few feet from Huckleberry, or on our blueberry farm across the street. We live in Black Mountain about a mile from Huckleberry, and we love the area. Wonderful place, it was beyond my expectations. Wonderful host.
Our stay was great! Linda was an amazing host. She left the lights on outside for us, since we weren't getting in till after dark. Any time I reached out to her she responded quickly. You're a quick drive from restaurants, shopping and Ashville. The home is adorable and comfortable.
This is a beautiful home in a very good neighborhood. The neighbors were very friendly and we enjoyed visiting with them. The location is near shopping, great eating places, and Montreat. The home was very comfortable with two bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen, and a beautiful front porch and side yard. A great place to stay when you're visiting Black Mountain.
We had a great weekend in Black Mountain at Linda's place! Very close to Montreat trails and downtown. The house was lovely, clean and comfortable.
We've stayed at all the Alexander properties and have always been pleased with the accommodations. Any issues have been addressed immediately and everything is always in order and clean. Highly recommend these rentals, great location with lots to do.

Black Mountain and Western North Carolina is a special place. Beautiful mountains, exciting wildlife and hiking trails. Places like Biltmore and the Grove Park Inn are one of a kind. Asheville has a special vibe of great food, music, brew houses and entertainment not found anywhere else. All this in an area that is exceptionally safe, with friendly people, and a strong infrastructure to support your short term visit to the area, or a longer stay
From Huckleberry, you can walk to the center of Blaclk Mountain of Montreat in 20-30 minutes, but you will need a car to get around to most places. Uber does pretty well , and there is a bus to Asheville.
Hucklberry has parking for 3 or so cars

We are a retired couple enjoying every day in the great western mountains of North Carolina. We have lived in the area about 10 years and find it safe and comfortable. Linda, and Husband Fred, who is a retired police officer, live a mile or so away and are there to support you if needed.
