The cabin was decorated in rustic chic and was cheery, clean, quiet, peaceful, and private. The host was pleasant, provided a tour of the amenities, and made sure I had all that was needed. I had a relaxing night reading a book and lounging on the comfortable bed. The location is a short walk to the S.C. Dept. of Natural Resources Fort Johnson research facility; a great place to walk and take in views of Charleston Harbor.

THE MOST UNDERRATED PLACE TO STAY IN CHARLESTON… It has everything you need, even granola! I stayed with my toddler and husband and it was plenty of room for us. Mark met us when we drove up and showed us the shower + composting toilet. Don’t be afraid of that, it’s super easy and the outdoor shower in the morning is so nice (yes, there’s hot water). I will be staying again this summer. The location is 15 minutes from Folly, and 20 to Sullivans Island. There’s a grocery store down the street and a CVS. You never have to leave the island except to go to the beach. Nan and Mark’s home is beautiful against the big oak trees with Spanish moss hanging everywhere in the yard. As you make your way down the short trail, you’ll come upon the outdoor sink, a couple steps away is the front porch with rocking chairs and the front door. If you turn on the ventilation fan and open the windows, a nice draft of air is created and we didn’t need any a/c. Thanks again Nan + Mark, coming back soon!

Nan and Mark are THE BEST HOSTS!!! They make our stay with them ALWAYS feel like our HOME!! We just cannot say enough about them!! We cannot wait to get back!!

Loved this little tiny house. It was probably the best sleep I’ve ever had. Super clean, super interesting. Nan was great with communication.
