Culkein · 整套平房 · 3室6床1.0卫 · 可住6人 · 3 bed home by the sea with mountain views
Our house is in a remote picturesque part of Assynt, close to the route of NC500 and only a short walk from a sandy beach. Enjoy extensive views across the bay of Culkein to Oldany Island and Quinaig. With no near neighbours and surrounded by working crofts, this is a great place to unwind and watch the world go by. Enjoy birdwatching, swimming, kayaking, fishing, sailing and walking. 2 twin bedrooms and a bunk room (lower double and upper single) comfortably sleep 6. There is a bathroom with an electric shower. The kitchen diner is fully equipped with washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave and electric cooker. Sorry no dishwasher. The comfortable front room has a sofa and 2 chairs and has a large window to make the most of the view across Culkein bay. There is a small TV with freeview. Heating is all electric by a combination of panel heaters and storage heaters. All heating, hot water and wifi is included. There is an outdoor seating area with table and bench, within a fenced garden. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times as the sheep and cattle are free-ranging over the local crofts.
We had a fantastic stay. Shona was an excellent host. The house was spotlessly clean and the views were spectacular.
Great location, comfortable, well equipped. Great host, excellent communication. Would recommend and use again
It was our second stay in the house. We loved it so much the first time we booked it straight away again. We've fallen in love with the area and I have no doubts we'll be back again in the future. The house was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. Thank you.
Culkein is a small picturesque coastal village. There is a small seasonal coffee shop which also offers pizza delivery weekly and fresh bread (to order). Flossie's beach store at Clachtoll is a 10 minute drive away by another sandy beach and sells hot and cold snacks and basic groceries. There is a pier with a slipway for launching boats. There are also coastal walks available from the house. The lighthouse and the Old man of Stoer can be reached by a crosscountry walk (no path) or a short drive.
Lochinver is the closest large village and is 20 mins (by car). There are several small grocery shops, a butcher, a hardware store, cafes and restaurants. The Highland Stoneware Pottery is nearby and there is a small craft shop. During peak season there are boat trips from the harbour for fishing and sightseeing. There are other seasonal activities locally such as a sandcastle competition, kayaking and guided walks.
