Great central location Lovely little town house very clean and well equipped Comfortable beds and lovely bathroom
Lovely house in a really convenient location - short drive to the Forest of Dean and all the other lovely places to walk and visit, and easy walking distance to the middle of Monmouth with a range of shops, cafes, pubs etc. Had a great stay with my teenage son.
The house is in a quiet street in Monmouth old town, within a stone's throw of some lovely shops, cafes and restaurants.
It's a really friendly town, and during the annual summer music festival - which is free - there is a fabulous atmosphere everywhere, with musicians playing in many of the local pubs, on the street and at night on the outdoor stage by the river: it's definitely something to aim for if you enjoy live music, good food & a festival feel!
Ideally located for exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Brecon Beacons and beyond.
Local attractions include Tintern Abbey, Symonds Yat, Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, Perrygrove Railway, local market towns and castles, walking, canoeing, fishing, golf etc.
Monmouth is less than an hour's drive from Bristol and Cardiff.
Parking in the street is limited to 1 hour between 9am and 5pm, with no restrictions overnight and Sunday. There are several nearby car parks with modest charges, and some free car parks within a short walk.

Nagi & Victoria moved to Welsh Newton Common (just outside Monmouth) in 2015, & they love it more with each day that passes. Their families think they are bonkers 'retiring' to a house on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere with lots of garden & masses of animals to look after... They have two adult children who are lured home at regular intervals by the promise of stunning views, warmth, proper food & laundry services.
