An absolutely beautiful stay in the San Luis Obispo area - Lorna’s guest house stay is a pristine wooded getaway that’s nearly equidistant to local hotspots like Avila Beach, Morro Bay, and of course SLO. The property has so much to explore and interact with from animals to trails, and the hosts are very welcoming and open with the whole space. That being said, guest house access stays as private as you want it to be, with zero disturbances and a spacious interior to relax in. If I were to return to the SLO area soon, the first thing I’d check is if I could stay here again!

Magical setting amongst large trees. Serenaded by frogs at night. Lovely soft water in fabulous shower. We enjoyed fish and chips on the pier as recommended by Lorna and the coffee shop she recommended on the fridge was the get coffee we’ve ever had!

My daughter and I absolutely enjoyed staying in the Grand Oak Cottage. My idea of a vacation is getting away from all of life’s traffic and the Grand Oak Cottage did just that for us. Upon arrival, we were greeted by “Pluto” the grounds dog. He’s the kindest, most gentle and loving soul. In fact, he’d visit us daily and we loved him checking in on us girls. Lorna was sweet as well, she was welcoming and opened up her property to us. “Pluto” guided us through the grounds, showed us across the creek and through the back trail. He introduced us to the horses, ducks and chickens. I know it sounds funny, but a dog really did do all this. He’s the most intelligent dog I’ve met. The land itself is breathtaking. I almost regret lining up so many activities for my daughter and I. I would have loved to just spend more time tucked away, surrounded by the beauty the Grand Oak had to offer. The cottage decor was just as it is in the photos, beautiful. Lorna you are a true artist.

So beautiful, cozy, and decorated very well. Amazing deck outside. Lorna was hospitable and also gave us some eggs from her chickens and ducks when we asked. Cute and friendly dogs on the property as well :)
