Michael was a lovely host and the place was as pictured. Our family stayed for a quick day to go to a concert at the Madonna Expo Center and enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and tidy and thoughtfully curated. The sonos speakers in the kitchen and living room are great. There is a private lodger in the little guesthouse next door but we didn't see or hear them. We would recommend Michael's place!
If I could give more than 5 stars I would, this Airbnb was outstanding. Extremely clean, lovely linens, and very comfortable, one of the best I have ever stayed in. The kitchen was well stocked, updated modern appliances, and extremely spacious. the flow of the house was fantastic and having one bathroom was not an issue due to its large size. (My husband is 6' 4 and he felt very comfortable.) No clutter, amazing decor, excellent wifi, I could go on and on...This place needs ten stars.
We loved staying at Michael’s Railroad house! We had everything we needed from comfy beds, fun fire pit, great location. Everything was super clean and he even left us wine and yummy, healthy snacks. We would definitely stay there again!

Getting Around & Parking
Location:
Our property is conveniently situated at 1789 Santa Barbara Ave in San Luis Obispo, offering a prime location for exploring the neighborhood and beyond.
Parking at the Property:
For guests, we offer two parkings spots in the driveway. The property is historical so the driveway is shorter than normal. A full sized truck will stick out past the sidewalk pretty far. Street parking is also available. We recommend always reading the street signs to avoid any unexpected parking restrictions or street cleaning schedules. This is especially noteworthy if parking on Santa Barbara Ave. Parking on Church street is fully open.
Walking & Biking:
Given our central location, you'll find many of San Luis Obispo's charming boutiques, restaurants, and cultural sites within walking or biking distance. Exploring the neighborhood on foot or bike is not only great for the environment but also gives you an intimate feel of the local SLO vibe.
Public Transportation:
There's a local bus stop just a short walk from the property, connecting you to major attractions and other parts of the city. Additionally, the train station is not too far off if you're considering venturing beyond SLO.
Driving:
If you're coming with a car or renting one, San Luis Obispo offers a mix of both free and paid parking options. If you are parking downtown besure to remember your licence plate # as you'll need that to get a parking pass at any of the parking meter / kiosks.
