The location was fantastic, 10 minutes to everything in and around Petoskey. On a less inhabited part of the lake so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed kayaking though the kayaks were kid size. The black out shades and large dresser in the bedroom were great. The bathroom was updated, good shower. Comfy bed on main floor, nice linens. There are some maintenance issues. I was surprised that the floor was extremely dirty, looked as though it hadn't been swept or cleaned in a long time. Bring flip flops or slippers! Most of the screens in the windows and the door had gaps and didn't close properly so bugs got in. We kept most of them closed. No back screen on back door. We weren't told to access the property via the left fork in the road so we took the closer right fork. The neighbor parked his car in the road so we went around it. He confronted us angrily and said it was private property, but no signs and the host didn't tell us. The stairs to the loft are open, maybe dangerous for kids

We were looking for a simple, rustic and peaceful setting to use as a home base for visits to Petoskey, Charlevoix and Boyne City. This cabin fit the description. Sitting on the shore of Walloon Lake, on the north end where the shoreline is less developed, it's hard to believe we were only a 10 minute drive to Petoskey, Charlevoix and Boyne City. Abel was a great host who reached out as soon as we made the reservation. Strongly recommmend this cabin as a peaceful and rustic retreat with good proximity to so many places to visit.
