Our stay at Shant Kuti on 10th of February was just awesome . I wish we had booked it for another day and enjoyed just lazing around the property and absorbing the beautiful views it offers of Pir Panjal Range. The stay was very comfortable and both the caretakers , Tilak and Prithipal are always there to help for every need of yours . The food prepared by them was just too good . The cottage itself is quite pristine and exctic with lovely interiors and furniture . One of the earlier guests had in his December review mentioned that property is very old, not well maintained, and not worth it; but we had heard of the place and read earlier vereiws which were very good .. so decided to go ahead with our booking. We are very happy with our decision and are looking forward to come here again for a longer stay. Warm regards to all

We had a memorable stay at Shaanth Kutir in the picturesque mountains of Dalhousie.This quaint heritage cottage is the ideal location if one wants to get away from the madding crowds and enjoy a holiday in the lap of nature. The caretakers Tilak and Prithpal looked after us with warm hospitality and served us delicious home cooked meals. The cottage is well maintained and cosy even though it was very cold outside. The views of the Pir Panjal range are quite spectacular at this time of the year. We were a bit concerned seeing the last review which was a bit negative but the earlier reviews were very positive so we decide to go ahead and make the trip. Suvir is an excellent host, always available and ensured that we were comfortable. He gave us clear directions and we had a hot meal waiting for us when we reached. We have returned refreshed and rejuvenated.

Pictures are good, but place lacks maintenance big time! Appeared unfair to charge INR 500 even if we want to get food from outside just to eat inside the premises on house provided utensils. Living room sofas are so dirty with seepage on walls and even broken at places. Biggest issue is the location - the drive to the bungalow is very difficult and steep, which makes it effectively impossible to traverse more than once a day. It’s in the hills and a very old property - choose a newer property better accessible if you’d like to enjoy the hill station.

The chalet has an amazing charm and character, with best views of the peaks. Near upper Bakrota area, it has lot of quiet place to walk, enjoy the food / tea every day at your own leisure. Tilak and other helper were great. Thoroughly enjoyed the place..
