We stayed at this lovely house on the outskirts of Loleta on a spring break trip to the redwoods. It's a beautiful house in the middle of nowhere, with a view of Humboldt Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The house was clean and spacious. The kitchen was decently equipped, which allowed us to cook a big pot of stew to eat over our stay. Previous reviews had forewarned us of the possibility of ants, which makes sense when you're in the middle of dairy pastures in a rainy season. The host considerately called me to inform me of a pest control visit while we were away one day, though we still saw ants afterwards if we had left any food bits in the sink and not run the garbage disposal. We were very happy to relax for a week in this house, especially in the solarium, which trapped the sunlight nicely against the ocean breezes, while deer stopped by to forage. Overall a pleasant place to get away from it all.

The home was on a beautiful lot and had wonderful views of the mountains and surrounding land, though the beach was obscured a bit by trees. At night with the window cracked you could hear the ocean though! Keep in mind the provided wireless internet is limited at this home so plan accordingly, individual Verizon cell service worked decently at the location though.

Pros: The big open grassy yard and views were beautiful. Definitely peaceful. We went for a walk toward the jetty and the road was not busy and there were lots of cows. Nice, big open area in the house. Love the many, big windows. They let in lots of light. Large kitchen table and plenty of counter space. The home and linens were clean. Cons: We left a muffin crumb on a plate on the counter when we left for the day and came back to a counter filled with ants. We saw them in the bedroom and bathroom as well. There were only two shampoo pods (just add water) for six people for two days. The host did offer to reimburse me but that I would need to purchase some in town. Very kind offer but inconvenient and the Loleta Market is not cheap. The yard maintenance crew surprised us one morning as we were enjoying the back deck. We had not been notified that they would be there. They were kind and all was well, but a heads up would have been appreciated.
