Lovely quiet space for a weekend.

We were looking for a place our five year old daughter could have the experience of visiting chickens in the morning and getting their eggs before breakfast, this place was fantastic for that. This exceptional barn conversion is on the edge of a deep forest, to perfect for long or short, very secluded walks. A short drive away is Petworth and Weald Downland living museum, all together making this an unforgettable long weekend.

This place is a real retreat - cosy, private and in stunning surroundings. The hosts have thought of everything - a stocked fridge, comfortable beds and delicious eggs from their hens. It's all very friendly and welcoming - but also very private. Perfect for children. Stunning walks and a beautiful garden. It's just short drive to Haslemere - where you can pick up supplies and browse little shops. There's a great bookshop. This is the third time we've been back - we hope to return again. Thank you so much.

My friend and I had a fantastic stay here. Louise was very friendly, responsive, accommodating and available. Alongside a full bounty for breakfast, Louise even provided homemade granola and freshly-laid eggs from her chickens! We collected the eggs from the hens in the mornings. The converted dairy is on the grounds of a beautiful country house. Set in the South Downs, walks abound through moorland bursting with yellow gorse and through woodlands carpeted in moss. The 'Theatre of the Winds', a viewpoint, is a 20 minute walk. The local village of Haslemere, home to a number of independent cafes, restaurants and shops, and a fine museum, is very close and is home to a small but fantastic farmer's market on Saturdays. The accommodation itself is delightful. While the kitchen is narrow and fits only one person at a time, it is perfectly sufficient and contains everything you could need. I even perfected the art of the poached egg on the hob, something I had managed on no other!
