The location was great, views beautiful. It was equipped with everything we needed. Nice to walk the rocky beach and watch the sunset. The bed was comfy although I was not a fan of climbing the ladder in the middle of the night to go the bathroom, it was a bit steeper than it looked. The only part that was difficult was getting from the car to the house. It is a bit of a walk, which we didn’t mind but it was muddy, rocky and slippery. I did fall walking back this morning even though I had boots on. I was grateful for the tip to come in the daylight because it could’ve been a bit dicey in the dark. We forgot something in the car and had to go out in the dark to go back to the car, and that was no fun. There was a wagon to bring our stuff and the host did let me know it was a walk and to wear boots. Besides that part, it was delightful.

Loved staying at Bothan Beag! Could not have been a more beautiful spot. I went in October and even when it was raining it was gorgeous. The house is rustic but extremely homey and comfortable once you figure out the quirks. Colin and Laura left some great local recommendations for all up and down the Caelidh Trail as well. Will absolutely recommend to any friends touring the Maritimes or Cape Breton.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at this little secluded getaway in Port Hood, and really enjoyed this unique experience. It is a wonderful place to unwind and to listen to the ocean. The outdoor claw foot tub was an unexpected bonus.
