The house was fantastic and the view was simply amazing. Angela and Stefy were quick to respond to questions. The kitchen, dining,bedrooms and bathrooms were great. The best part was the balcony with an amazing view of Lake Como. Our only caution would be to have a small car as the road to get from the main road to the house location was extremely narrow, winding and up and down. Taxis would not come to the location and we walked the road up to the hotel on the main road to meet taxis. Some days we chose not to drive as the parking in Bellagio can be a challenge.

Angela is wonderful. She is extremely responsive & thoughtful. She provides all the necessary personal care products but goes one step further providing electrical adapters, bottles of still & sparkling water, & Prosecco waiting in the refrigerator. We were a family of 6 & finished the water quickly. When I contacted her to let her know (because there weren't any grocery stores open or nearby), she immediately sent someone to the house with more water. The house is immaculate & beautiful & the views are magnificent. Daily breakfast on the veranda would have been spectacular. Sadly, we weren't able to do this. Unbeknownst to us, the grocery stores close early (noon on Sunday) & are closed on Monday and/or Tuesday. The local roads are extremely challenging & nothing is walkable. We rented 5-passenger cars, but Hertz gave us 5-passenger SUV's which made getting in and out of the driveway and navigating the narrow steep switchbacks difficult. However, overall it was a great experience.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Angela’s. Communication prior to arrival was very friendly and helpful. Check in and follow up by Stefy was great. The house was perfect for our group; two families of four, each with kids from 12 - 14. Three bedrooms up top and a teen retreat on the lowest level worked well for us. The drive in certainly requires concentration and might challenge the nerves of some. However, we happily managed it in a slightly larger than ideal, hire car whilst coming from a right hand drive country. Indeed it adds to the charm and ‘getting away from it all’ vibe. It’s a 10-15 drive to the historic town centre and parking can be another (manageable) challenge. However, after a day of exploring and ferry hopping, its great to be able to retreat to the cooler upper slopes where Angela’s is located. Parents on the terrace with a glass in hand, admiring the fantastic view and kids on the level below in the outdoor jacuzzi. Pretty perfect.

I will start with the positives. The home provided incredible views of Lake Como. The host and co-host were available and very attentive. The space was more than sufficient for the time we stayed there. Getting there is a very big issue though. The trail is treacherous and sometimes we could not get drivers to pick us up or bring us back to the villa. We rented a small car but would not dare drive it at night. Unless you are very experienced in mountain driving I would highly recommend you hire a private local driver for your entire stay. Cabs and Uber drivers are not readily available. There are probably 3-4 drivers in the entire area. I can’t stress this enough. It was really dangerous to drive up and down. Once up there though the views and the peace were worth the trouble. Enjoy your stay at Villa Angela!
