Take time out from the hustle and bustle and relax in the Welsh Mountains. Our 18th century corn mill has been converted in to a spacious family home. This beautiful old building is set in 2 acres of secure gardens nestled at the edge of a little village. From this character property you can explore all that North Wales has to offer. It's the perfect setting for a big family holiday or get-together. And we are pet friendly so your furry friends can come too. A beautifully renovated corn mill on the edge of Snowdonia, surrounded by fields with sheep, chickens and cows as your neighbours. The open plan living room is packed with character and is set up with a log burner, large corner sofa and long dining table. The central heating and wood burning fire make this spacious, double height room warm and cosy even in the winter months. The modern country kitchen is fully kitted out to meet all your culinary needs. A large range cooker, coffee machine (filter coffee), microwave and full height fridge freezer means that you can stock up and cook up a storm after an exciting day exploring the majestic sights of North Wales. There are 3 large bedrooms. One double bedroom gives wonderful views of the hawthorn tree where the woodpecker and other local birds eat their breakfast. The other double looks out over the garden at the other side of the property. The king bedroom has a down-filled mattress topper, once you get in you won't want to leave. The king room can be set up with either twin beds or one super king. All doubles are equipped with dual controlled heated blankets which ensure your beds are cosy and welcoming even on the coldest of winter nights. There are two bathrooms (one on each floor) one with shower cubicle, one with bath and shower head which is perfect to soak those aching muscles after a long walk or a hike up Snowdon. All the little extras are taken care of so you can just turn up and enjoy. Towels, bedding, toilet roll, hand soap, washing up liquid, cooking oil, salt & pepper and a welcome pack including tea, coffee, sugar, milk and fresh eggs are just some of the essentials we provide. It truly is the perfect space for family or friends to get together, relax and unwind in the quiet comfort of rural North Wales.
The grounds were beautiful and in such a lovely location! The home however may not suit people who don’t like dogs….. The hosts were absolutely lovely, receptive and wonderful!
Superb location, well equipped home from home with spacious enclosed outside space ideal for kids and dogs. Communication with host was great, speedy and accurate… providing flexibility on check in time and use of an extra room for sorting out the dogs after wet n muddy walks. Saved Christmas after a major leak at home…. Would highly recommend
Fabulous accommodation in a magical location. Very beautiful and with lots of space. Loved the honesty box and the rhubarb cordial. Still to try the chilli and tomato relish. Very spacious living/dining room and really well stocked large kitchen. Fabulous bath and shower with piping hot water. Lovely large gardens with hens and outdoor seating with a bridge over a little stream. Thank you Paula 😊
Set at the edge of a friendly, rural little village, this property has key conveniences on the doorstep and is a short drive to larger towns and tourist attractions.
The village has a well stocked shop which has everything you need from fresh veg to tinned goods and drinks. There is a great pub called the Llew Gwyn in the centre of the village ( a 10 minute walk away) which serves a wide range of drinks and bar snacks. There is another pub, The Crown, 2 miles down the road which serves drinks and pub food.
There are larger supermarkets and great places to eat in Bala, Llangollen, Denbigh, Corwen and Ruthin, all just short drives away. Tesco and Asda deliver to our address should you want to take the hassle out of the holiday food shop.
Corwen (15 min drive) is the closest for takeaways (no delivery available) there is a choice of Chinese, Indian, Pizza, Kebab and Chippie.
Due to the rural location, your own transport is necessary to get to the property. There are many walking routes in the area, 2 wonderful reservoir walks and 25 miles of forestry tracks.
The house is a short distance from the A5 connecting you to Bala, Betws y Coed, Snowdonia, Ruthin, Corwen and Llangollen.
The village has its own local run taxi service which can be called upon to take you to any of the local towns for an evening meal.
