If you want peace and tranquillity in a modern but traditional cottage this place is for you. Renovated in 2018 so nice modern touches. It has amazing amenities, comfy furnishings and is sparkling clean. Communication with Michael was great with easy lockbox check-in and check-out. Not only is this place great for fishermen with lots of lakes to choose from. It is also GREAT for road running on the quiet country lanes. (No public trails). You can gear the cows munching on the grass literally a stone’s throw across the narrow lane from the front door. There were basic oils and seasoning for cooking with plenty of pans, crockery and glasses. If we hadn’t already booked our following week down South, we would have stayed. Ballybay is a small town only 12 minutes’ drive away that has a good selection of convenience stores, pubs and takeaways. Chinatown takeaway is great. It’s approx. 70 miles cross country drive to the Giants Causeway. Great day out. It’s approx. 80 miles drive to Stormont the parliament building. We would recommend this place to friends and family.

At the time of writing this is a newly renovated cottage, with a lovely county feel. Built, I think for anglers in mind but is completely suitable for a family or group of tourists seeing the sights. There is a secure garage on site with plenty of room for anglers to store their gear, & 3 bait fridges & a freezer for their bait. Parking is excellent, room for multiple cars to be parked safely off road. Situated no more than 30 minutes drive from both Castle Blaney/Loch Mucko to the East, & Cavan to the West, there is ample "famous" fishing just a convenient drive away, but honestly the fishing right on the door step means there no need to travel that far. There's massive bags of Road, Bream, & Hybrids to be had right on the doorstep. The area is also well known for its Tench stocks. The cottage itself is spacious clean & comfortable, it has all the amenities you need to make a great base for your Irish holiday. Including satellite TV (not Sky), & WIFI. Both of which I'm sure are not advertised on the cottages page.
