Klickitat River Inn is an enchanting lodging experience and intimate event venue nestled on the banks of a beautiful stretch of the Klickitat River, one of only 6 rivers in WA designated by the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act. Just a mere 13 miles from the iconic Columbia River Gorge, 25 mi. from Hood River, 60 mi. from Portland and 130 mi. from Seattle, this hidden gem is centrally located to provide endless opportunities for outdoor adventure, recreation, and good ol’ fashion riverfront relaxation. KRI has 5 unique accommodation options to choose from, each with their own personality and allure! All are equipped with full kitchens, bathrooms and stocked with a variety of essentials to help you enjoy your stay in comfort. Additionally, all the units offer spectacular panoramic canyon wilderness views. The entire property is situated literally right on the river and a quick glance across the free flowing waters and you’re bound to see local wildlife like deer and bald eagles. The Inn's feature accommodation, the "Main House", offers privacy and exclusivity and is the first choice for those looking to relax and enjoy the river in luxurious comfort with a "home away from home" kind of a feel. The back French doors open up to a large porch with plenty of seating around both a wood burning outdoor fireplace and a propane fire pit. There is also a propane BBQ for all you grille masters out there. There is also plenty of additional seating spread across the large grass lawn with park benches and a picnic table all strategically situated throughout the riverfront yard... and of course river access is just a few steps off the back porch! Oh and it's a pretty great fishing hole if you want to try your luck as the Klickitat has one of the gorge’s most significant fisheries with a healthy population of salmon, steelhead and trout! Fishing season typically runs Jun 1st-Nov 30th. Adjacent to the Main House is the 4-plex building with 4 Studio Apartments, Suite #1 & #2 on the ground floor and Suite #3 & #4 on the second floor. Behind the 4-plex is the large 40ft x 20ft outdoor living area/covered deck right on the river. A guest favorite, the deck is a great place to relax by one of the two fire pits or lounge in one of the many cushioned chairs and enjoy the 180* views of the river and the towering canyon and forest landscape it cuts through. There is a trio Propane/Charcoal/Smoker BBQ on the deck for anyone looking to fire up the grill after a day out on the river and a custom wood bar to serve it up on! The covered deck is a shared space, but there is plenty of room for seclusion and opportunity to be social if you so choose. In addition to the other amenities, corn hole and horseshoes are located right next to the covered deck. The Main House has badminton and bocce ball, perfect for the large grass lawn off the back porch. The river views and scenic wilderness surroundings are not all we offer! We have a fleet of off-road Ebikes available to rent for guests looking to take a ride on the Klickitat Trail. We also have tubes, kayaks, helmets and life jackets available to rent but we encourage you to go down with someone that knows the river. The area surrounding the town of Klickitat and the river which shares its name are renowned for their seasonal hunting and fishing. During summer, popular activities on the Klickitat River include recreational drift boating, kayaking, and rafting. Paths and trails provide opportunities for scenic hikes. The 31-mile-long (50 km) Klickitat Trail is on the route of the former railroad tracks, now a biking and hiking trail. The trail follows the Klickitat River north from the Columbia River past the town of Klickitat.[8] Washington State Route 142 provides a scenic drive through the canyon *Dogs are welcome upon approval with an additional pet fee of $25/night.. *WiFi is available and free to our guests and it's plenty fast (we’ve had many guests work remotely while staying with us).
