This charming, traditional cottage in a quiet lane in the centre of Findhorn village has recently been renovated and refurbished to a high standard and provides cosy and modern accommodation. There is a small garden with space for storage of surf boards etc. opposite the cottage across the lane and a small garden area and patio directly in front of the south-facing cottage with a table and seating area. A light and welcoming porch also provides a sheltered seating/storage area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Doune Cottage. It was easy to park and we could walk everywhere, to markets and restaurants and to the beach. It was absolutely beautiful. There was firewood stacked, and we had fires at night. It was quiet and comfortable. Pamela guided us to the House of Bruar on the way back to Edinburgh, which we also enjoyed. Thank you for a marvelous stay.
Charming and cozy cottage, very peaceful, everything in walking distance. Simply perfect for a stay in Findhorm, Would love to come back.
Lovely quaint cottage in beautiful Findhorn village, with local amenities on your doorstep. Great local pub few minutes away! Clean, compact and cosy, log burner was just fab on the cooler nights.
Great place to stay and the area is lovely. Local pubs and shops are friendly and quality
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Doune Cottage in Findhorn. In the heart of the village and very convenient for bakery, general store and pubs/restaurants. Excellent base for exploring Morayshire. Cottage has dormer windows upstairs - so low headroom. Wi-Fi is very good - we had two teenagers with us and no complaints (better than home)! Pamela’s communications were great - clear and informative. We would be happy to stay again! Many thanks Iain
Findhorn village is situated on the west of the Findhorn Bay and extends in the north to the Moray Firth and the long Findhorn beach which stretches all the way to Burghead. There are two village shops: one with a post office and the other specialising in organic food and whole grain sourdough bread.
In addition there are two pubs both of which serve meals and a couple of cafes. On the shore of the bay is a sailing club, a marina and businesses offering various water sporting activities. The Moray Coast trail is readily accessible on foot, as is the world-famous Findhorn Foundation.
A public bus service connects the village to Forres and Elgin.
Free car parking is available throughout the village.
There is a regular train service between Aberdeen and Inverness stopping at Forres. As of February, 2023 a new train station has been opened at Inverness airport making airport access much easier by public transport.
The nearest airport is Inverness which is reachable in 45 minutes by car and Aberdeen airport is a 1 hour and 45 minute journey by car.
