The beach shack was perfect for what I was looking for during my kids spring break. Fun and relaxation was what we had on the agenda and the rental did not disappoint! As it's clearly stated, the house is on the dunes, literally in the sand. This was a huge plus for my kids and me being able to walk to the beach without lugging a cart of stuff, being able to go back and use the bathroom or get the kids lunch etc. but expect sand, this is unavoidable if you want to be on the beach. Having a washer and dryer was fantastic to wash the beach stuff and come home with clean clothes. The hot tub was a hit with the kids and there is a maintenance person who comes and cleans it every few days. It fit 2 adults and 3 kids no problem. The house was perfect for our dog too, he loved being on the deck and out on the beach with the kids. If you want a comfortable affordable place on the beach this is it. This exceeded my expectations for a place on the beach with a dog and children. We will be back

Great place on the beach. Very private- what old Nags Head was all about.

There were some storms while we were there and the hot tub was a big hit for the teenagers when they could not hang out on the beach! Thank goodness for the hot tub!

This place had a great view even with the house in front of it. It was an easy walk to the beach. The beds were comfortable and it was clean. We enjoyed the hot tub since it was cold when we went. I do think the place does need some TLC and maybe the pictures were a bit old. Just be aware you need to bring everything extra with you. There was no shampoo, body soap, hand soap, dish soap, or pepper (there was salt).
