Occupying a protective stretch of coast called "the Saddle", Margaretsville is a sleepy town with a big history. It was home to a booming shipbuilding and shipping industry not to mention the hospitality, milling, and shops that it took to support the town.
Today you will find two small museums, one at the lighthouse and one beside the wharf. The Artist’s Circle is a cooperative art gallery that has been providing locals and visitors alike with handmade art inspired by the Fundy Shore and Annapolis Valley for decades. The Evergreen Theatre in East Margaretsville provides weekend entertainment you wouldn’t think possible in such a small community. Throughout the summer community breakfasts are served on the first Saturday of the month.
Margaretsville's shoreline has always been the preferred place for escaping the sweltering heat of the valley, taking in sunsets, and having beach fires (please check local burn restrictions).

Saddle Bay Cottage has its own driveway suitable for one vehicle, any additional vehicles can find parking on the road or in the parking lot across the street.
Bicycle Annapolis' "Over the Mountain and to the Bay" loop passes right by the cottage and offers a great route for exploring the shore via bicycle through Margaretsville, Port George, and Cottage Cove.
