Converted from the old hay barn and stables, our accommodation is purposefully discrete and traditional.
The grounds are private and peaceful.
You can thoroughly relax while enjoying the views of the meadows and the wildlife while barbecuing outdoors. Presenting many opportunities for wonderful photographs.
We are centrally located between Liverpool and Southport which makes enjoying the best of the local countryside, coast and the city easily achieved.
Countryside
We are fortunate to have Lunt Meadows as our neighbour, a lovely 75 hectare wetland nature reserve that can be easily accessed and viewed from our accommodation. With lakes, meadows and reed-beds bursting with bird life all year round it’s perfect for nature lovers and walkers alike.
A few steps from our door, there is a great many miles of local nature trail to walk and explore. This includes the nearby Cheshire Lines Path, a disused railway line that provides a 5 mile (8 km) walk between Southport and Maghull that forms part of the Trans Pennine Trail.
There is no shortage of good local pubs and restaurants to be found along the way too.
Sefton Coast
A local interest for visitors alike is the Sefton Coast, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Our local beaches and coastal landscape are quite close by and easily explored, including Antony Gormley’s sculptural display. Consisting of 100 cast iron figures, nicknamed the Iron Men, they are set in the sands of Crosby Beach looking out to sea, which makes for a very dynamic and atmospheric display.
Golf
The many world famous golf courses found along our coast greatly adds to the coastal landscape. Just a few miles away these are easily reached, as are the local villages of Crosby, Formby, Hillside and Birkdale.
Liverpool
Built on the banks of the River Mersey, Liverpool is a proud and widely interesting city.
The birth place of the Beatles and home to great music, culture, sport and of course the famous ‘scouse’ sense of humour, Liverpool offers many interests for both the casual visitor and those attending specific events like the Eurovision Song Contest.
Aintree Races: The Grand National
The worlds greatest Steeplechase is held locally at Aintree Racecourse.
During the three-day event, more than 20 different races will take place. In the biggest race, the Grand National, horses and jockeys race a course with 30 high fences covering four-and-a-half miles: a great challenge for both horse and jockey and a great spectacular to watch.
The famous Champion horse Red Rum was locally owned and known to train on the flat sandy beaches of the Sefton Coast near Southport.
Southport
Southport, a seaside town looking out towards the Irish Sea, is most known for its Golf Links, nearby Royal Birkdale Golf Club and for its charming Victorian Canopied Boulevard known as Lord Street. Edged in scenic gardens and water fountains this is a favourite shopping and eating out destination.
Local Restaurants
Ego at The Punchbowl Sefton, is a local restaurant and well worth a visit. As too are Emily’s Formby and the Pheasant Pub, Hightown.
Moor Hall and Solo, located nearby in Aughton and Ormskirk respectively, are award winning Michelin star restaurants and highly recommended for special occasions.

Our local bus service links to the Mersey Rail Northern Line which has Train Stations across Merseyside. Liverpool Airport can be reached using this service, but a taxi is the quickest and more convenient option.
Most guests arrive by car or taxi. Vehicle parking is free.
