Lovely little spot for my solo trip to Donegal. Perfect for what I needed - cosy, quiet, close to the beach, amazing walks on the door step. Mary was just lovely - always available if needed but otherwise left me to it. Would definitely recommend and may return myself!
There's lots to see and do, rain or shine, right here in Malin Head :
Surrounded by the wild Atlantic and on the Wild Atlantic Way, Malin Head affords breathtaking views at every turn.
Banba's Crown, the most northerly point, is the place to enjoy the summer sunset and watch the winter Northern Lights. Here is Hell's hole, a spectacular chasm where the Atlantic roars, stunning Skildern sea stacks, the lovely ancient Irish village of Ballyhillion with its beautifully maintained thatched cottages, and the raised beach with semi-precious stones. Wrap your hands around a great most northerly coffee from Banba Cafe's van and leave with a momento from Wild Atlantic Crafts.
The wonderful Knockamany Bens, along the 'Inishowen 100' scenic drive overlooking the Five Fingers Strand where alpacas will take you for a walk....insect- eating and rare flora along the road verges.
The ruggedly wild Ineuran Bay where the Falcon stood during Star Wars filming in 2016.
The Wee House of Malin, a place of ancient pilgrimage. The ruined church remains. Make a wish on the 'wishing chair' and watch the dolphins and basking sharks offshore. This is a very special place.
