Lovely house, well equipped with cookware and conveniently located. Surfaces/bedding all nice and clean, but it could do with a deep clean of corners/skirting/behind furniture which was quite grubby. All in all a good stay and easy to find and access.
A really well appointed cottage with good equipment and facilities although we didn't really use many as there is so much to do in and around Exeter. Great beds, good comfy linen and towels. Very warm and cosy. Loads of hot water. The alleyway 2 minutes from the house leads directly to M&S, TK Maxx and more. The city is 10 minutes walk. The christmas market was the best we've been to in 10 years! We managed to get tickets for the Carol service in the Cathedral too. The museum is wonderful and free! There are so many places to eat. Brodys, eat as much as you like breakfast is amazing value and fantastic limitless breakfast. The Cosy Club is very hard to find but a completely hidden treasure and the food is sublime. We visited Killerton and Topsham. Both wonderful. As stated there is only permit parking next to the house but the streets either side are very close and no restrictions.
Magnificent cathedral, mediaeval quayside district with artisan shops and cafes, guided tours of the maze of underground passages, and a plethora of taverns, shops, and restaurants make Exeter a vibrant city in south Devon. The Tucker's Hall, a fascinating mediaeval structure established for the Company of Weavers, Tuckers, and Shearman and now housing remarkable carved panelling, rare silver, and a 4-foot-long pair of fulling shears, is just one of many excellent museums documenting the city's long history. Parliament Street, which is nearby, is supposedly the smallest street in the world at its narrowest point, measuring less than 25 inches. A quiet refuge, Rougemont gardens are set against the backdrop of Roman wall ruins and include the castle's gatehouse and tower. Being the focal point of the intriguing complex of antique stores and cafes known as the Quayside, the Custom House is a reminder of Exeter's former importance as a port. Sidmouth and Exmouth, both a short drive away, have beautiful beaches and mark the beginning of the 95-mile Jurassic Coast, which offers plenty of chances for recreation, sport, and discovery. From Exeter, you can easily visit the rest of south Devon, including its picturesque countryside and World Heritage
