Our backyard space also features a putting green & a firepit! The home is packed with games so you'll never be bored! *Please read the section on the train before booking! **Please note that our house is located in close proximity to a vibrant train track. The passing trains add a distinctive element to the atmosphere, creating a unique and memorable experience. If you're a train enthusiast or appreciate the nostalgia associated with train travel like we do, then you'll love our home, but we also recognize it may not be for everyone! The neighborhood is in a Quiet Zone, which means the trains don't blow their horns, however, please be aware that the passing train noise can still be noticeable. We make every effort to minimize the effects, including smart speakers for white noise and sound reducing curtains in all of the bedrooms. As a new listing, we don’t have many reviews here, but we urge you to check out the reviews on our other listing to see what kind of hosts we are! We lived in this house for over a year with our two small children so we could ensure we're providing a legitimately amazing experience. Surprisingly, not many hosts do this and are ok with having only a passing knowledge of the neighborhood and an even lower understanding of what it’s like to stay at their place - we wanted to be different! Below is a detailed description of what our guests can expect at our house, both the good and the bad. We want our guests to make the most informed decision possible! Backyard: We drew on our previous experience with our other rental property to create this one. That's why we know how important the backyard space can be for many groups. There are a ton of advantages when renting a house instead of a hotel room, and one of them is having a private outdoor space. So we went all out and built one of the most sought after amenities for San Antonio visitors… an in-ground pool! We have plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing and pool toys for entertainment - we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! Including the fenced in pool area (featuring a child-proof gate) there are 3 outdoor spaces. In addition to the pool, we have a high quality putting green! We also supply the putters and balls. Whether you are a seasoned golf player or just learning, our putting green is a great space to have a little friendly competition with family and friends! We also have an outdoor lounge space on our deck, with outdoor couches, a TV, a propane fire pit and a BBQ grill to keep you entertained and your group happy. The train near our house is visible from the deck as well, so if you’re a train enthusiast, you'll love hanging on out on the deck and watching it go by! Lastly, we have regular pest control here and provide insect repellant spray and candles as well! Indoor Amenities: Our home is just under 1400 sq ft, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The space is a good size for most groups, and the living areas are open so you never you feel cramped. We also packed the house with games and other amenities that will make your downtime during your trip fun and memorable. If you’re anything like our family and friends, there’s nothing like a little friendly competition! We provide lots of board games, card games, and even video games! Play some music while you hang out with our LG Meridian surround sound system, featuring a perfect amount of bass and clarity when listing to music or watching movies. The sound system is connected to our high quality 4k TV and is capable of filling the room with Dolby Atmos surround sound! We also have a Xbox Series X/S that is connected to Game Pass Ultimate. This gives you access to over 100 games, including new releases and classics. Play games like Madden and FIFA 23 or try hardware pushing games like Forza 6 racing. We also have high speed fiber internet. Get up to 1000 mbps, perfect for streaming and working! Also indoors, we worked hard on creating our kitchen and dining spaces. We tried to think of everything, down to the giant dining room table. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots, pans and utensils you need to cook, which we know is important, especially for families that are in town for a Military Graduation! Each of our bedrooms has a high quality mattress, not the cheap ones you find at other Airbnbs. We also have all our bedding and towels washed off site between every guest, so we don’t need to ask our guests to do chores before they leave! If you do choose to do laundry during your stay, we have a washer and dryer that are free to use - laundry soap and dryer sheets provided! Train and Train Noise information: If you're familiar with downtown San Antonio, then you're probably aware that trains are very common here. San Antonio was one of the last major cities to get a railway. When we finally did, our city started building around them, changing the layout of our downtown area forever and spurring the growth of what would eventually become one of the top 10 largest cities in the US. Our house is pretty close to the tracks of one of these railways, but luckily we live in one of the few train 'Quiet Zones', so the train conductor isn't allowed to blow their horn unless it's an emergency (like something is on the track). Most downtown neighborhoods don't have the benefit of a train quiet zone, so we are very fortunate, however, we're still close enough to the tracks that you can still hear the trains passing. As we previously stated, our family lived here for over a year and it didn’t bother us or our children at all… as a matter of fact, our youngest loved watching the them go by. If you're not used to living in areas where you see trains often, you may find it kind of neat. You can definitely hear a train go by when you are in the backyard, but it’s not overwhelmingly loud and only last a few minutes. Having said all that, light sleepers may have trouble with the train noise late at night. We've installed noise reducing curtains in all of the bedrooms and provide smart speakers for white noise as well, so hopefully it won’t be a problem for anyone in your group, but we do want to be upfront about it. If this is something you're concerned about, please reach out to us and we'll be happy to answer any questions you have! Other things to note: - To designate our neighborhood a Quiet Zone for trains, one requirement was to install concrete medians along the streets near railway intersections to prevent cars from going around the crossing gates. This can make it a bit challenging to back out of our driveway at first, but once you get the hang of it it's not too bad. For larger vehicles, it may take an extra 15 to 30 seconds to successfully back out as you may need to reverse and go forward a few times to clear the median. - There are multiple security cameras (4) covering the front yard, driveway, backyard, and back porch at the property. Though they automatically detect and record all activity 24/7, we do not actively monitor the exterior security cameras during guest stays. We would only review the footage upon your request, or in the event of an incident. - The pool is available 24/7, but we do ask that music stop being played by 10pm and quiet hours are respected for the sake of our neighbors. - The pool will be heated during cooler months to 88 degrees. - The pool dimensions are 20' long, 10' wide, and approximately 5' deep (note: there is no shallow end, only bench seating) - Depending on the time of year, there may be some staining on the pool deck from the Pecan tree above; the tannins from the leaves and nuts are notorious for staining concrete. Please be assured the pool and pool deck are thoroughly cleaned before each guest check-in!
