This house had some really great features. The common area (living room, dining room and sunroom) was terrific, with separate areas for different activities but with a connected feel and a great lake view. Access to the water was easy. However, the bathroom connected to the only first floor bedroom was NOT a full bath as labeled on the listing picture. The third floor bedroom could only be accessed using stairs that were INSIDE one of the second floor bedrooms, a very inconvenient situation to say the least. Every morning hundreds of boxelder bugs were found in the kitchen and breezeway and had to be vacuumed up. Bugs were also found in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Communication with the management company was confusing, never reaching the same person twice, hard to manage the thread of an issue.

For the price we paid, I was having a tough time enjoying the amenities the property offered. The house was outdated and it was difficult to enjoy the waterfront access when the entire yard (including the volleyball court) was filled with geese feces. The water in the house smelled like rotten eggs anytime we used the hot water - this made cooking and showers unpleasant during our stay. When I spoke with the host contact, they asked for us to not block the path towards the lake because they had elderly neighbors who couldn’t walk up to the dock. I completely understood, but their messaging led me to believe it was one neighbor - I was disappointed to find the path was littered with cars (up to 20 cars at one point) during the Fourth of July and even flooded over to our driveway at one point that day. Cars were driving around the property’s circle driveway to exit and peering inside the house which made me feel uncomfortable. It didn’t feel like the private getaway we were hoping for.
