True to its name, Crow's Nest Cottage, almost a century old and located on land that has been in the same family since 1767, sits high up with a glorious view overlooking the sea (like the crow’s nest high on the mast of a schooner). Inside, its ceiling is crossed with log beams and is open to the roof above. Although rustic, it is refined in detail and decorated in a comfortable “Maine” style uniquely its own. Stone stairs lead from the parking area to the covered porch, peaceful and romantic, with a breathtaking view of East Penobscot Bay and Pumpkin Lighthouse. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with two twin beds, and a full bath. Off of the living room is a small office. The living room/dining room has an easy-to-use gas fireplace insert and hide-a-bed that sleeps one. The kitchen is complete with a gas stove, microwave, eating/cooking utensils, silverware and dishes. It has a refrigerator, toaster, drip coffee maker, electric hot water kettle, pots and pans and of course a lobster pot. There is a clothes washer and dryer. There is high speed Wi-fi, a land line, and automatic generator in case of power outage. Guests are welcomed to use the private Ocean Swimming Beach, just a short walk down the hill, and the hiking trails of Lookout Rock. Please note: Animals cannot be accommodated.
