We had a wonderful stay at the Artist’s Retreat. Wish the weather could have been a little better as we would have spent much more time outside enjoying the beautiful grounds of the property. Nice and peaceful which is what we were looking for in our stay. And btw, 44 North Coffee Shop down the street is a great way to start each morning! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful cottage. The artist bedroom is amazing. Simple and full of the Maine spirit. We loved being on the water.

This home is in a beautiful location by the ocean (we rented kayaks to use there which was nice although it was often too windy for us to comfortably kayak), amazing view to wake up to, and lovely sunset views over the water at night. We loved the outdoor deck area, which was nicely designed around the fire pit, and featured a charcoal grill. The grounds were very spacious, and made the house feel very private. The house is a great base for exploring beautiful local hikes (barred island, isle au haut, etc.), as well as driving (~1 hr) to farther hikes in Acadia/town of Bar Harbor. Only negatives are the house is slightly musty (i.e. might not be great if you have asthma), and the host was slow to respond.

Great spot. Deer Isle is beautiful and Acadia/Bar Harbor are just an hour or so away.

Beautiful location and view at sunset. Good kayaking from house.
