Long Melford · 农家仓房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Barn studio with lovely garden views
Situated on the edge of the pretty medieval cloth town of Long Melford, the barn combines modern comfort with an impressive historical pedigree. It sits adjacent to The Old Cottage, a charmingly wonky Tudor house, dating back to the 1430s, occupied by hosts Janine and Richard. There are plenty of beautiful walks and fascinating places to visit nearby, including medieval Lavenham, the old market town of Sudbury with is fabulous Gainsborough museum, and Bury St Edmunds and its fine Abbey. The ground floor studio of the barn provides a comfortable, stylish and private space for up to 2 people. It is divided by a partition into a fully equipped kitchen, bedroom area with a double bed, ensuite shower room, and lounge space that looks out onto the garden through bifold doors. There is free Wifi and a Smart TV, where you can log into your streaming accounts or watch various free channels. As well as the private use of the decking area, accessed from the patio doors, guests are welcome to use the end part of the garden which includes a lily pond, gazebo, BBQ and hammock. Off road parking is available for up to 2 vehicles. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a few treats are provided. Long Melford, with its enormous sweep of sloping green, 15th century church and the longest high street in England, was recently voted one of the top ten most desirable villages to live in. Packed with historic properties and a vibrant community life, it is easy to see why..... Long Melford’s wide boulevard- style high street, meets all your basic shopping needs. In addition, there are several antique shops, tea shops, pubs, galleries, and a deli, serving delicious home- cooked food. All this can be found just a 12-minute walk from the barn. Nethergate brewery, selling craft beers and gin is on the outskirts of Long Melford, close to the country park. The popular Willow Tree Farm Shop and Cafe, is just a few minutes' drive away, and a little further on are the pretty villages of Cavendish and Clare. There are attractive field walks moments away from the barn and a sign posted route along a disused railway track. The village boasts not one, but two stately homes - Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall - both built in the Tudor period. The area is also popular with cyclists, and we are happy to provide storage for bicycles.
A peaceful and relaxing stay in an immaculate and spacious studio. The garden setting and birdsong enhance the charming ambiance.
Fabulous stay at this stunning barn. Beautifully decorated with lovely artwork & textiles just what we love. So well equipped in the kitchen with everything you would need & even a magnifying mirror! Great little touches. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good enough to sit on the private decking which overlooked a very pretty garden in the better weather would be amazing. Long Melford is a very pretty place and surrounding area too, easily accessible from the barn. We would highly recommend to our friends and family and hope to come again Thank you for a relaxing stay
We had a lovely stay here! Janine and Richard were great hosts. The breakfast basket was very thoughtful and we especially loved the brownies. The barn was very nice and comfortable and we had everything we needed, would recommend!
