Great large back yard for cornhole, gorilla bocce, frisbee or grounding on grass.

George's place is an excellent spot to stay! The building was easy to find--the red medallion helped--and there was excellent parking. The apartment was roomy, well decorated and had coffee, abundant dishes, lots of towels, good art on the walls, and windows that looked out onto nice grassy lawns that the deer appreciated as much as I did. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot. In my exchanges with George, he was friendly and did a great job of providing all the "need to know" information about the apartment and how to find it. Overall, this is a very nice quiet place to stay and we would like to come back next time we're in Iowa City.
Very comfy. Easy rides to University area. Nice selection of books, games, furnishings. Recent remodel done well. Nicely set up for 1 or 2 people. Loved the easy parking. Outdoor chairs and awning. Lots of extra towels. Thank you. I will be back.
I was in Iowa visiting my daughter at the University. The space was perfect for my 3 day stay. It was very close to the university, super clean and nicely decorated. George gave excellent instructions and directions with pictures which was very helpful in finding his place since it’s tucked back a little bit off the road. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am in Iowa!!
We loved our stay at George's home! He was proactive in giving us detailed instructions (accompanied with pictures!) how to find the place and how to get in. The apartments itself is as described, very homey and sweet. We enjoyed doing puzzeles in the evening and browsing through books. The area is very quiet and peaceful. Five minutes from the Univeristy and downtown. Great place to stay! Thanks George :)
George was an amazing host and provided very clear, detailed instructions for checking in and out. He responded to my messages right away and made sure the place was ready to go upon my arrival. His place was just the right amount of space for me and I felt right at home. It was very clean and welcoming and I will definitely be looking to book in his place on future trips to Iowa City.

HISTORY: You are staying in a neighborhood known as “Goosetown”; so named because the original Bohemian (Czech) and German immigrants kept very smart geese which ran around the neighborhood during the day to socialize with their goose friends, but brilliantly all knew how to return to their own homes for dinner.
LOCATION: This home is centrally located; you can walk downtown in about fifteen minutes if you head south on North Dodge and turn west on historic Brown Street. Enjoy the stroll toward the river and Hancher Auditorium. The downtown area will be to the south. Linn Street will take you through the historic Northside, past some of the more iconic eateries: Pagliai’s Pizza, Brix, Goosetown Café, and the Webster. The closest grocery store and gas station is North Dodge Hy-Vee.
Off-street free parking. Goosetown Garden Studio is located in the near northside/Goosetown neighborhood of Iowa City.
