We had a great time staying at Alicia's place in Morongo Valley. The location was perfect for visiting Palm Springs and Joshua Tree, and the grounds and views from the property are lovely. The house was clean and check-in was seamless. I would love to stay here again!
Alicia’s Morongo Hideaway was a comfortable and peaceful base for us to visit our daughter in the desert. We had easy access to Joshua Tree, Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley and Palm Springs. At the same time we could just hang out in the garden and enjoy the sun and nature. Alicia was incredibly responsive and friendly. We’ll be back for sure!
We had a wonderful stay with 2 adults and 3 kids! Alicia was very helpful offering recommendations for things to do in the area. The house was just a described. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We loved looking at the mountains from the private gardens! 5 enthusiastic stars!
My group of 4 had a great stay at Alicia's place in Morongo Valley. The home was nice and clean with plenty of rooms and nooks to hang out in. The location was convenient for visiting Palm Springs and if we stayed longer then we likely would have made our way north to Joshua Tree as well. The recommendation of Spaghetti Western is a must if you're looking for a place to have dinner nearby! As a runner I felt safe running around the neighborhood and there's a quick hike (1.3 mile) at the end of Maccele road called "Old Glory Peak" if you want to get an incredible view of the valley and mountains. Would definitely stay again!
Beautiful home and grounds were the perfect getaway for our babymoon. Alicia is such a responsive host for whatever we needed. The jacuzzi tub was a plus and all of the local flora and fauna were fantastic to see. Quiet and private enough for us but also equidistant to Joshua Tree, Desert Hot Springs, and Palm Springs. Highly recommend!
We are located in the hills above the historic community of Morongo Valley. The house is situated on a residential street at the top of our quiet neighborhood. Morongo has primarily been home to ranches, homesteads artist residences, and spacious properties. This valley community has been known as the gateway to the high desert. Our property rests on the ridge overlooking the valley, on 2 private fenced acres backing up to the hills. Down the hill is a neighborhood of locals, vacation homes, and ranches. Our landscaper of 20 years lives across the street. On the highway are local coffee shops, cafe, gas stations, boutiques, a post office, and the cactus mart (the premier spot for buying cactus and succulents in the high desert area).
Morongo Valley is a small community of artists, second home owners, and locals. This historic valley was once the primary home of the Maarrênga’yam, "people from Morongo", of the Serrano band of Morongo Indians, and is known for its water, flowing down from the San Gorgonio mountains into the streams that helped great the Big Morongo Canyon preserve and oasis. The natural resource of the canyon as a historical space and ecological habitat was in need of protection in the mid 1900s. The Audobon Society, The Nature Conservancy, and concerned locals worked with the BLM towards the creation of Big Morongo Canyon and Covington Park. The Covington family and others donated land to the conservancy for protection, and they created in the park, an art colony and nature center. The community of Morongo has sought to preserve and celebrate the beauty of the valley. The canyon is now officially a part of the Sand to Snow National Monument!
We are located off Highway 62 up in the hills above Morongo Valley. All roads to our home are paved with clear street signs. Our property has a private entry gate, long driveway, with plenty of parking for 3 or 4 cars.

My family splits our time between the desert in Southern California (I was raised in Desert Hot Springs), our mountain cabin in the Sierra Nevadas at Pinecrest Lake and our home in San Francisco. Our family is happy to share our vacation cabin and our desert home with you! I manage 3 popular Bay Area restaurants and with more than 23 years in the hospitality industry, I know how to create an awesome and memorable guest experience. My top priorities are cleanliness, safety, and making sure that you have all the amenities you need to have a restful, peaceful, and super fun vacation! Welcome to our home!
