Excellent location, very clean, and comfortable. We found our way around town easily with Waze App. Would suggest recommendations for grocery store. We got lucky and found Wegmans, had never been to one, that was a treat. Out of towners should give it a try. Brad was an excellent host. Greeted us when we arrived, check back with us when we were leaving. Complete privacy during our stay. Wifi was excellent.
My friend and I and my dog had a great stay. We enjoyed local history, breweries, and wineries for a few days. The cottage gave us a nice restful place to go after our busy days. I loved the art throughout the house. Wi-fi was great. I do wish the shower would have gotten hotter but perhaps I was not adjusting it properly.
Our Hosts were welcoming & friendly. That made me feel it was ok to ask for more TP & another roll of paper towels, that was delivered without question. Started as a 2 night stay but I requested a 3rd night soon after booking was accepted. It was close to where we wanted to be. A bit close to main house but turned out was not an issue. I may have missed this in the listing, but both beds are very small, (doubles). Could have used more pillows & blanket. But was manageable. Toughest thing for my husband, (& me at times), is not seeing the step ups & downs from room to room. And stubbing his toes or a surprise drop in his step. A suggestion, on the very nice TV w good service; would be to place in opposite corner of living room so it can be watched from one bedroom. Nice area to sit for breakfast. I loved the “quiet”. And view of the woods out back. 1 other thing I would have liked, is all windows to have a shade or blinds, including the bathroom window. Most had curtains.
Great location and super close to great wineries and some amazing historical sites! Brad’s place was as advertised and we found it just the right amount of cozy!
The Cottage is part of one of Black Cat Roads post-civil war farms recorded around 1870. Saved from the ruin of abandonment, the property is slowly being revived. The Woodhouse Cottage, probably the first structure on the property, offers seclusion and rustic charm within easy access to all C’ville and the area has to offer.
Detached and bordering woods and gardens, the Woodhouse sitting porch is entertained by a host of flowers and birds in the spring.
There are several parking places for The Woodhouse Cottage. As in most areas, automobiles are the status quo for getting around. There are some walking trails in the neighborhood.
