Great stay for a weekend getaway to the Charlottesville area. Convenient to wineries, downtown, and the mountains, but far enough off the beaten path to enjoy some privacy and quiet.

We were long-term renters at Thelma's place for several months. I had a stem-cell transplant in May and while I was in the hospital, my wife stayed comfortably at Thelma's place. Once I was discharged, we needed to remain near UVa Hospital for several weeks, which was only about 23 minutes away and a pleasant drive. The little blue house was ideal for us, with two bedrooms and bathrooms...and a third bedroom that my wife turned into a make-shift office so that she could keep working as much as possible. It was quiet and a good place for me to rest. I found that I could walk the road to build up my energy level and we discovered some Charlottesville area parks for me to walk, too. On the hottest days, we walked the mall. I would recommend it for anyone in similar circumstances. There are about four steps to get in, but other than that, it is all on one floor. Even if you want a short term stay for a special event or a get-away, the pictures online do it justice.

We enjoyed our 2+month stay at Thelma's little blue house. It was the most quiet location, a very well stocked kitchen, with comfortable beds and convenient appliances. All worked as it should. The very clean and tidy house felt a little "full" of furnishings and decor, but we also lean towards more minimal as a pair of artists who work from home. As mentioned in other reviews, the outside is quite lackluster and we found the neighborhood to feel cold and a bit too far for our long term daily commutes to C'ville. We found no problem with the window in shower like some reviewers, in fact it was a favorite feature of ours, the natural light and fresh air. The window dogs after a few minutes providing privacy if folks have that concern. Both bathrooms are spacious with vents and ample towels. We cooked in the kitchen tons, really appreciated the tools and appliances. Overall a great long term stay. Thelma was quick to respond to questions.

Wonderful long term stay! Very quiet. We loved Merrie Mills vineyards. No traffic noise. Inside the home is much more luxurious then the outside would imply. No need to bring anything. Everything was on-site.
