Great wooded and private location near the city. We stayed here for a month as we were selling our house before a move. Had everything we needed and was a good consistent respite for our family (two young kids) during a lot of change. The only criticism is that the only access to the one bathroom is through one of the two bedrooms. But that was just a minor inconvenience a few times. Overall I highly recommend, especially for a couples wine weekend.

We stayed at the Aviary for a month and had an delightful experience. It had everything we needed (kitchen amenities, washer/dryer, 2 comfortable beds in two perfect bedrooms, etc.) We brought a Fire stick for the TV and it was simple to install. The hosts were so friendly, but gave us plenty of space and privacy. We brought 2 cars for our stay and there was plenty of space on the large driveway. It felt very peaceful and secluded with a very large yard and we could even see some sheep and donkeys at a property visible from one of the many windows. We were sad to leave since it really felt like home after 4 weeks...it was really perfect!

The place was perfect for our weekend stay. It was very clean and hospitable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone visiting Charlottesville.

This place made my travel assignment so wonderful! Butch and Watts are charming, conscientious hosts, and I could not have asked for a better place to stay. The Aviary is bigger than expected, quiet, and very comfortable with so many touches that made it feel like a home away from home. It is a short drive to the center of Charlottesville, and the hosts were able to offer some excellent recommendations for restaurants and local places to visit. I could not have been happier (or luckier) to stay here!
