We spent JMU Graduation 2024 weekend here, and the experience was so memorable and special! I was in touch with Caitlin months ahead to help me plan for special moments throughout the weekend. The beautiful kitchen and dining area was a perfect setting for me to host a "Girlfriends Dinner" for my daughter and her close JMU girls. We also hosted a family and friends brunch during the weekend to celebrate our grad, and the kitchen was well stocked and supported our hosting beautifully. Our friends all commented on the beauty of the house and the views. The rooms were so spacious and super comfortable for when we needed a good night's sleep after the festivities. We loved every single minute of our time at Barefoot Farms--It's a magical place to go and make memories!
My girlfriends and I recently had the most incredible bachelorette weekend at the Barefoot Farms. This place is an absolute gem and Caitlin is a fantastic host!! Nestled near Shanandoah National Park, it was a quick drive from DC. You’re surrounded by nature, yet close enough to enjoy the vibrant city life. The bedrooms are cozy but spacious, well spaced out for large groups. The patios were amazing for morning coffees and evening happy hours and the kitchen was stocked with everything you need!
Beautiful, peaceful, private country setting. The place was a delight to stay at.
This is the second time that we have stayed here. It's a perfect house for us. The host was extremely flexible with our plans and made everything very easy for us. Great host, and a great house!
Great stay, would definitely return. Spacious with lots of amenities, the home had everything we needed over the weekend and more.

I grew up in Hanover County Virginia and came to James Madison University to start college in the fall of 2004. I fell in love with the Shenandoah Valley and lucky for me, met my husband while I was working at Rosetta Stone in downtown Harrisonburg after college. We moved to the farm in the summer of 2016. We absolutely love this area and are so grateful daily for the beautiful land and incredible views! We live here with our five (wild and crazy and precious) young kiddos. We can’t wait to share our slice of heaven with you!
